I'm looking forward to the liberty horses and trapeze, but neither me or my son will be watching the clowns.
Rooney being back, and captain, is odd. But not as odd as:
"Fabian Delph will start the match as captain"
I don't get the hate for Rooney or Becks, there is a reason they won so many caps, two of the best players England has ever produced.

It was just in comparison to the teams they played in, plus their celebrity PR profiles.
Beardsley and Waddle were better players in equivalent positions, but just played in better overall sides, and in more humble times.
No hate for Beckham here, but I do dislike Rooney. Mainly because he could have been one of the best in the world if he'd picked the correct Ronaldo's fitness regime to follow.I don't get the hate for Rooney or Becks, there is a reason they won so many caps, two of the best players England has ever produced.
guys a potato - genetics were always against him. He was also quite unlucky with injuries when he was playing well and in contention to be the best in the world. No doubt he could have been better with better fitness but only to a tevez / benzema level imo.No hate for Beckham here, but I do dislike Rooney. he liked the fags, booze (off season) and chips. He may have worked as hard to overcome the social things that meant he wanted to do all that but in absolute terms he was not as dedicated.I think it's possible he worked as hard to stay where he was as Ronaldo did to get to where he is now.

This. He worked about as hard as Berbatov on his fitness but without the natural lean shape that allowed Berba to get away with it.he liked the fags, booze (off season) and chips. Rooney was certainly one of the best, but in my opinion Beckham wasnt as good as Darren Anderton, he just played in a far better team and had a media campaign to push his career forward, Anderton 7 goals in 30 games is far better than Beckhams 17 in 115 which is pretty poor considering the number of direct freekicks he took which were "in his range" (just wide or over the goal)
