I thought it was me and the onset of dementia!

I’ve only seen bits a pieces of him so can’t say.
There must be someone out there. I’d like to give Shelvey a go but he to plays too deep for Saudi Sportswashing Machine imho, to completely fit the bill.
 
I think Lingard is a pile of toss too, it does appear that we have some skillful players in the next wave (U21/20) so hope to have some brain as well as legs.

The team is lacking and so is the manager, I am ok giving him more time but he is really lacking. He fell into the 3 at the back and because it gave limited success he is now wed to it when its been obvious in matches that we should have another body in midfield.
 
Linguard has fleeting moments of real skill/quality* and has an incredible kante-esque stamina, which could make him useful.

But he is brainless, and thats just too much of a liability for me.

As you say, Im hoping some smarter players come up soon and push the like of him out.



*Im really not sure its deliberate, rather just a moment of instinct.
 
I got on my high horse about how brick he was to my mate in the Panama game and then he scored that super goal. I really think he is rubbish, Man U fans seem to think he is good because he can run around a lot.
 
Southgate already started Winks in the last two matches before his injury. He can pass the ball/play that fulcrum role like no other English player.

I love Winksy, but he has only played 15mins or so after a very long layoff.
Let's give him time.
