Indeed, it is that and then some. I must try the Lagavulin. Given that this virus apparently does not do well when met with alcohol, I need to up my game.

I will try it. A peety affair it would seem? In recent years I have gravitated to Irish whiskeys for their overall smoothness. I am still alarmed at how good Paddy's is considering it's meagre cost.

It is peaty but less so than Laphroaig and it is exceptionally well balanced.
 
I learnt my whisky trade drinking Tullamore Dew and Red Label in my young years. How I learnt to love whisky drinking those bottles of tinkle I will never know.

I remembered your antipathy for the "e" but soldiered on regardless. trust me on Yellow Spot; if someone is drinking it for the sloppy effect, they should be removed from it's presence and horse-whipped for their disrespect.

I will say, your blanket statement re: scotch MUST come with caveats. There is simply no chance whatsoever that nothing south of Laphroig can be considered "pure joy', in fact Johnny walker should only be used as a bathroom cleaning product.

You should try Yellow Spot. You don't have to admit to doing so, just trust me. Milo - tell him.

I'm very happy drinking Irish whiskey and Yellow Spot is a really good one. I rarely buy it now, it's nice but rarely as complex as a malt and I can get Lagavulin for the same price. I'm very fond of Japanese whisky.

Halfway down a bottle of Green Spot over this last couple of weeks. Great stuff, to be sure.

I had my second worst hangover ever on Tullamore Dew, aged 19. My head is still a bit sore.

John Power's Gold Label was my entry point to whiskey. It must be 20 years since I last drunk it, I wonder how I'd find it now.

Bang for buck, this is great value. Also the malt variety is just as tasty.

I'm also partial to a Campbeltown Scotch, feel like it's best of both worlds. Typically lightly peated but really delicious.
