118F is for wimps!Ground temp of 118F in Siberia. We're fudged.
(edit: that temp was a few days ago actually).
Planet beginning to heave its last breaths, I fear.
Nah stuff like this has always happened it is just better reported now and with videos it then has a more visual effect rather then just reading about it in a book.
Not saying you or anyone particularly on this board, but this the planet is dying thing just smacks of people with obvious low level mental health issues not being able to confront their own fears about mortality. The other end it gives Politicians and Scientists more reason to have control over the little people which is something that people that go into both professions seem to like.
It is worth moving to a carbon neutral economy only because it gives us freedom to not deal with countries like Russia in the future and it will clearly be a growth economy.
Chill out and turn off the news mate.
This is us 100%. There is no serious scientific dissent on this except by paid fossil fuel industry hacks. That people still have any doubt over the causes of climate change shows how successful that industry has been in its decades-long assault on the truth. 'Drilled' is a good podcast on this if you are interested.Hmmm. Not sure I agree - although I obviously hope you are right. The heat bubbles in Canada are not ‘stuff that has always happened’, nor are the melting of the polar ice caps.
Anyway, timely and interesting article in today’s Guardian on how the changes and ‘weird weather’ were first being picked up in the 60s and 70s - and how the process is accelerating.

Is it due to humankind, or a natural undulation in the earth’s environment (like The Ice Age or The Little Climatic Optimum)? Who knows.
