Sorry Howard I'm not too sure what your point is. Mine is that peoples perception of Harry won't alter a whole lot irrespective of how things play out.
 
I was confident he was going down till Talksport blabbed the Storrie and Mandaric verdict.

This is a complete dead duck now.
 
I think most people's opinion of 'Arry would be more likely to change if he's found not-guilty.

yes, I agree that may happen. My point is, that is not a good situation. The only acceptable viewpoint is one based on the facts!

The truth will come out, no doubt.

Without launching into a debate about the political spectrum you will find various opinions on the heinousness of a crime related to the non-payment of tax. Is it against the law, yes. Does the regular Joe try and get away with paying as little tax as possible, yes. Some people just don't think non-payment of tax is a serious crime - more of a challenge :)

It seems to me in this case that 40K is not a huge amount for someone like Harry, but HMRC are determined to chase him no matter what. They are looking for a high profile scalp.

I personally couldn't give a rat's arse. Taxation in this country is punitive and I don't blame him. We have MP's fiddling expenses, we have Banks posting huge profits and paying next to no tax and telling the rest of us times are hard, we have people working cash in hand as they claim disability benefit, socialists voicing their opinions from soapboxes as they drink Champagne, and we have people who haven't worked a day in their life breeding like rabbits and living like Queens thanks to our generous welfare state. Life isn't fair, and this countries taxation system (and spend) makes life look like the fairest thing in the world!

So I don't blame any individual who works hard and tries to keep as much of it as they can. If the powers that be finally get around to creating a fair simple taxation & welfare system then maybe I'll join the chorus of the hypocrits (and I say this because almost everyone I know would fiddle if they could get away with it) but until then as long as it doesn't affect his ability to manage Tottenham Hotspur FC then who gives a toss?

what crime do you consider might impair his ability to manage Spurs? There isnt any crime which impairs anyone to do anything, unless you physically need restraining. Thats not what crime is. You wouldnt suggest restraining Mr Redknapp for fraud im sure :)

the point is, you dont get to pick and choose the laws you like or dont like. you live here and you follow the law, or you get in trouble. thats life. wether or not it gets detected or not is irrelevant. unfortunate, but its not perfect! the 'only in trouble if you get caught' attiude is not good enough.

I'd say any crime that has a psychological effect on him. What crime would that be? Who the fudge knows? As for the law? Crime's are different. Redknapp has been on good money for years, that's without his investments. The man has paid more tax than most people earn in their entire life. If he is guilty, then the correct punishment should be a fine and a slap on the wrist. We aren't talking millions here, we are talking a measly few thousand which is paltry in the grand scheme of things from his own tax affairs, let alone the nation's.

As I said, other than a few jealous hypocritical tacos and Spurs fans who never wanted Redknapp at the club to begin with....who truly gives a brick?

Why do we need to know the details? All we need to know is if he is found guilty or not, and even then that is irrelevant to us. What is relevant to us is the punishment and whether it will effect his ability to do his job.
 
Anyone else wonder why the trial has continually been postponed?
Perhaps those involved in prosecuting are Arsenal/Chelsea/Liverpool fans?

The Law profession is full of rabid gooners just dying to pull down the mighty bastion of White Hart Lane, by eviscerating the club manager over a sum of money that he probably pays to have his garden tended for a year

Of course he's guilty. He was paid a sum of money into an offshore account and didn't declare it for taxation purposes.
He will put in a plea of mitigation and he will be fined.

They aren't after HR and unpaid taxes on a chickenfeed amount like that, he's just collateral damage in a wider case, if I'm reading the runes correctly.

Some people on here are making a spectacular mountain out of a real molehill of an issue.

Unless he shoots the judge, he wont be doing time, or community service, or being fitted with a curfew collar, and neither will he be tarred and feathered and hung from the balcony of Lancaster gate.
 
how much of a distraction is it going to be?? cant be good for the team or his ticker..
 
why would it distract Harry, he pays lawyers to be distracted for him. His heart is fine, he had a stent fitted in the arteries feeding his heart, its like worrying about an engine because a fuel injector to one of the cylinders is blocked
