I don't understand why they didn't submit a £150m bid when Kane didn't report for training. It is still probably too low but it might have given us something to think about.

Throw in England games and that is a lot of football played for a supposedly injury prone player with dodgy ankles. it's just the usual if people repeat it enough it will be believed and nobody bothers to fact check anything.

As a player that doesn't rely on his pace, it's more about his football intelligence and looks after himself I see him continuing well into his thirties.

Well you can take out 10 of those games each season that he is injured as that is how long it takes him to get up to speed.

And then City just happen to bid the exact amount he said on camera. Seems like a big coincidence. How can he value himself at £100m when Ben White is £50m? Either he’s selling himself short or he knew city wouldn’t be likely to pay much above that.

He also turned up at training four days late and didn’t offer any explanation until Friday when a media frenzy had already been brewing. If the club allowed him to return later than everyone else then why not say that? His statement read “I can’t go into the details”. Sorry why couldn’t he? I doubt the club would hang him out to dry if it was agreed that he could return later than his teammates. Him not turning up and then waiting four days before saying anything publicly just added fuel to the fire.

I think that it always would've taken more than that but a substantial bid early enough in the widow had a chance of succeeding.

It just stinks of lack of commitment (from City).

I'd like to know how many of Kane's moves were in calaboration with City? If they were...City really have fudged him over. If not, it's deployment of the amateur (CK66) playbook with a faint hope we cave in or lose patience with him, a ridiculous reading of the situation that only leaves him tarnished.
 
He also claimed in the interview that he could match messi and Ronaldo numbers of goals per season.
Get there then you can get a pay rise, not before.

I don't think that his actions make any sense if there wasn't collusion between them. City have fudged him over

Absolutely. He could've made it clear that he was open to a new challenge but left it at that and then only kick off once a serious bid was made. That way he preserves his relationship with than fans and applies pressure on the club when it is most likely to have an impact.
 
I hope Kane doesn’t have as much influence in the dressing room as he did before this summer. He’s our best player and most valuable asset and he knows that and exerts his power accordingly. Nothing wrong with that, but I hope someone tells him to fudge off if he ever grabs the ball to take a free kick again.

Its all about winning football matches. In a way some disunity can help hone the hunger. It is not really about togetherness, it is about winning. And doing whatever it takes to win. On that score Kane is onboard and everyone should fall-in with this approach.

Someone on here crunched the numbers a while ago and Kane is statistically at his most prolific when returning from injury
 
It is no coincidence we looked a better side when he came on against wolves on sunday. And thats without a proper pre season.

221 goals in 337 games. i get the negativity about how he's gone about things but there is no denying he is a class act. And a goal machine.

If he gets a release clause then the only benefit we can gain is lower wages - otherwise all the upside is to him.

Longer contract means nothing if there's a release clause - what else can we gain?

It makes the situation crystal clear for all involved for one. No summer long whispers of players being offered in part exchange

There could also be an upside to us depending on what the clause is set at

Agreed. Although getting 160m for a 29 yr old next summer seems a bit steep. If kane was to get an injury this year his value may even diminish so a clause of say £120m might protect his value for us
