If the derisory bids are true and he ends up staying then the club, if smart, could use it as a way of firing him up this season and beyond to show City what they've missed out on. He always said being released by Arsenal gave him a point to prove which aided his development - could be the same here

Unlike Spurs previous high-profile departures, Kane is on a mission to top Alan Shearer's PL goal scoring record. He absolutely need game time to accomplish this. If he's not being shifted to a new shirt, then banging them in for Spurs remains his best option to keep that quest viable.
If, in the process, we qualify for CL, then suddenly we become a viable option for him once again and he gets what he truly wants - a Spurs side battling for all the top trophies.

Right now, multiple sources have "confirmed" the only real bid City has put in was £75M cash +add ons to take it to £100M
Which if true, meant they never were really going for Kane, only if we were teetering on bankruptcy and had to sell, and even then, I'm sure if we had called United and said £110M cash and he's yours, they would have bought him.

Yeah I believe that too. Levys spent a long time building us up to be taken seriously and while we've regressed over the last 2 years, we're still considered big enough for the ESL. Selling your best player to a direct rival is not a good look. He dug his heels in on Modric and Bale to an extent. We've come a long way from the Carrick, Berbatov and Keane days.

We're now within 7 days of the transfer window closing and realistically, this has to be the cut off point for Levy and Paratici to sell off Kane. Getting in a replacement at this point would prove problematic and, as we're seeing with Romero, any new arrival will take some time to fit in with the established squad.
The same philosophy does not extend to outgoings nor should it extend to any additional incomings that aren't replacements for Kane. We wouldn't want to see Daniel Levy deprived of his annual day of greatest joy, especially with so many pending opportunities to exploit.
