This whole Kane saga is so out of character, something does not add up. As Neville says, there has to be more behind it than what we've learnt to date. Yes we know Kane feels he had a gentleman's agreement with Levy but he cannot fail to be aware of the Modric debacle. You do not make gentlemen's agreements with an operator as slippery and ruthless as DL.

So until I've heard from the man himself what's driven him to burn his bridges so recklessly I'm going to reserve judgment.

But his explanation will need to be pretty damn convincing.

I think they will. Assuming the pay Kane £300k per week, he'll cost them £210m over 4 years. £400k pw and its £230m. Zero resale value

Messi might only be 2 years, but cost would be say £60m? Zero resale value
