If he's actually said that, he should be kicked up and down Tottenham High Road. That's an absolute disgrace to deny Defoe the chance to play on the biggest stage in the game to bring along a 16 year old who couldn't be picked in the team.

Surely this can't be true?

Also, who at the FA hired him and then backed him when he his affair story hit the press, where did this person also work?

Sven has also said he didn't pick Defoe as he wasn't playing regularly, yet Walcott hadn't played at all for Arsenal.

I agree it was a shocking choice, taking him a Giraffe and two unfit players in Rooney and Owen as you four forwards should have been a sacking offense. Always used to watch all England games but lost interest when the Sven circus game to town.

fudgeung crushing that his time with Spurs will end trophyless and mired in this brick with this coach, these owners and this team.
 
I think he’ll ask to go this summer. The “I’ll make a decision after the Euros” is a classic get-me-to-the-end-of-my-time-here-with-as-little-grief-as-possible line. The only question is whether anyone will be able to afford him in the midst of a pandemic.

Levy will price him out of a move whether that is a good or bad thing.

He gets goals and they are very hard to replace I also do not trust us to spend any money wisely under the current set up.

It does have a bit of the Sherwood vibe about that place doesn't it. Like any decent results don't really matter to us at the minute because the man in charge is both a) not fully accepted by fans and b) not going be around long term anyway, so it's hard to really get behind him.


*Not that I want to even compare Sherwood to any real manager yet alone one as successful as Jose, Just noticing that similar feeling right now.
