We've put up with exorbitantly expensive strikers firing blank after blank for the past two seasons yet as soon as Harry comes along and starts firing them in regularly all we read is how inadequate he is.
FFS!
Earlier in the season, when Kane scored that unfortunate late own goal against Sunderland which cost us the win, me and my 10yo nephew called him a donkey. But now he hardly looks like one. Instead, he looks more and more like a striker with a great future. It remains to be seen if he can continue his current goal run and go on to be a top class striker.
You are 100% right. Strikers are made by how they come through their first dip in form. I hope that everyone is patient and sticks with him when this happens.I think we need to be realistic with Kane. He may have a dip in form at some point. He's running his socks off and playing so well. But when he needs a rest, we need Ade and Soldado to step up - to Kane's level!
I don't think he has put on that much bulk, maybe a bit, i'd say its more down to getting game time and gaining confidence from the manager believing in him. If you were a youngster just breaking into the team you'd be nervous about fukcing up a chance or playing a bad pass, especially in front of our crowd. Kane though just seems to have that inner natural confidence, he misses, he just keeps going til the next chance, his head doesn't drop..... you can't train that.
Pathetic isn't it
Indeed
Are there any strikers that score better than 1 in 4, there can't be that many can there?
He's still learning the game and can only get better, wasn't Defoe something like a 1 in 7 or 8?
Where is statman when we need him?
So assuming Kane can manage 6 more goals before end of season, how many strikers have we had hit 20 goals in a season in last 15 years?
Might be a good quality perspective, I can only think of that season when both Keane/Berbs did it ..

Harry Kane isn't a poor man's anyone.
In fact, he's scored more goals in all competitions this season than any other English Top Flight player.
Including Wayne Rooney.
Do any of the older posters think Kane reminds them a bit of Mark Falco in how he plays?
Harry Kane, Mark Falco and Frank Saul are the only three home-gown strikers I've seen come through the ranks at Spurs and command starting slots.
