Heard of Paul Mescal (although not sure I’d recognise him if he kicked me on the shin in the supermarket)…and that’s it.

My short-list would be:

1) Josh O'Connor
2) Dev Patel

O'Connor would be particularly good if they rebooted it as a period piece

Patel would make sense if it was contemporary, especially seeing as MI6's field agents are almost never white anymore (since Islamism overtook the old Cold War focus)

Callum Turner is probably the most suitable on that list - he was good in Rose of Nevada

In terms of age, social background and values (racism, misogyny etc), the person to play Bond should always have been Prince Philip. Maybe AI can now make that film?
