Gay Marriage Bill

Judging by your post I'd guess there's no-one within your acquaintances who live their life by a book but I think you're understimating how many do in the wider population.

I'm not underestimating it mate, I get that billions of people are religious. I just find it silly that in 2013, people still live their lives and form their opinions based on a book such as the bible. How about actually thinking? Again, not a dig at you. I'm a man of science and I believe that most religions are just tunnel vision.

i don't think anyone lives their life by it, but there are plenty who cite it as an excuse when something happens that they don't approve of

in my experience people are only religious when it suits them

Exactly. Those people pick and choose the bits from the bible that enforces their arguement or shows a set of morals, but they ignore/dismiss the parts that condone slavery and *struggle cuddle* for example.

Quite. I'm done with the Consevartive Party after this.

They may not miss my vote but I suspect they'll miss my donations. May reconsider when the dinosaurs die off, but I can't vote for them with a clean conscience.

This

There is simply not a party worth voting for at the moment

If forced, I'd probably go UKIP>>>>>Tories>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Lib Dems>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Labour

Good old bible. Surely anybody with half a brain can see it was written by our blood thirsty ancestors who had no TV and internet to keep them occupied.

A good old fashioned raping or stoning to death was the highlight of their week.

And knocking the old girl about was fine, cos women didn't really do much in them days to justify their existence.

"I permit no woman to teach or have authority over men; she is to keep silent." Timothy 2:11

"But if she bear a maid child, then she shall be unclean two weeks, as in her separation: and she shall continue in the blood of her purifying threescore and six days."

"When men strive together one with another, and the wife of the one draweth near for to deliver her husband out of the hand of him that smiteth him, and putteth forth her hand, and taketh him by the secrets: Then thou shalt cut off her hand, thine eye shall not pity her." (Deuteronomy 25:11-12)

"But if this thing be true, and the tokens of virginity be not found for the damsel: Then they shall bring out the damsel to the door of her father's house, and the men of her city shall stone her with stones that she die: because she hath wrought folly in Israel, to play the kitten in her father's house: so shalt thou put evil away from among you." (Deuteronomy 22: 20-21)

Honest question - why are no 'extremist' christians who take the every word of their holy book literally, in the same way that some 'extremist' muslims do?

This sentence is very frustrating, but I think I know what you're asking

My retort: You've not been to America

Looking at it from a completely objective view, because Christianity is 600 years older than Islam. In fact, it was around this kind of time in Christianity that different sects really started to go at each other. Dabble in a nice sprinkling of anger at outside intervention and colonisation, the rise of the Saudis and their extremist interpretation coupled with their money, a harking back to a better time (where actually Muslims tended to be a lot more tolerant and open to new ideas than they would think) amidst many of these countries' poverty, it being the only thing they can turn to in the face of their dictators etc etc. There are a whole multitude of reasons, you could probably write a book on it.

Second part of the answer is take a trip to the US.

The DVLA/DVLC whatever they're called nowadays used to issue a new number plate free of charge on request to anybody with 666 in their registration number.

PS I have three sixes on my shoulder, am I going to hell?

Yes, yes your going to hell.

If you get there before me save me a seat.

I don't get it. The conservatives push through an issue which you are in favour of, and that means they will lose your vote?

i'm guessing its because they didn't push it through, half of them voted against it, it was support from the other parties got it over the line

O/T looks like they played a blinder with the EU

ARGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

Played a blinder????????????????????????????/wtf im spitting at the screen and not at you because your actually in the top 15 of current posters but i have seen this said a few times already and it is making me so fudging angry im going to sit out all night to find that fox that comes through the garden and fudging kill it because i need to kill something.

How the hell did they play a blinder?? because the budget for the EU comes down????? yet we are still paying fudging more yet again we are paying more and more. SO fudging what that the danes gave up the rebate, fudging tacos for doing so.

I went on the guardian website earlier and they showed how much we put in and get back along with the other countries and the brick eastern block countries(i have a home in one of them actually) get far more out of it then us. Why are we paying to build roads and bridges in some other country we should be doing that in our own.

Yes the Germans and French put a lot in but the French somehow still keep their CAP and the Germans get a lot out of the EU because they sell so much stuff in europe. Yet again Britain comes out the worst off, well the dutch and danes got screwed from what i can see.

Cameron has proved what a useless **** he is, his whole career is about setting himself up for when he leaves office so he can be a "great statesman" just like Blair. Just like blair he hates the working class british people he is meant to represent.

A victory would have been to call to account the corruption in Brussels and to drop by half our contribution, then i might consider the EU worthwhile. We should be paying for the basics, free movement of people and trade it is what we signed up for.

This whole free movement of people thing can not go on much longer anyway because even the Germans are putting restrictions on the people going into Germany. When we have 3 million unemployed we can not have more people coming into the country.

I do not buy this crap that the immigrants do the jobs that british people wont do. We have 3 million claiming job seekers allowance, make em do it of they lose their benefits.

Cameron fudged up yet again i do not care what you say about her but maggy would not have bent over like this for them bastards, she would have got out a big black strap on and fudged them all to they were bleeding.

I'm sensing I may have slightly touched a nerve

firstly, leave that poor fox alone, she's only trying to get along

my feeling is that as this is the first time there has ever been a reduction, and Cameron has been insistent on us requiring one despite the other core nations saying it was impossible, that this is progress

I agree Thatcher would have done things differently, this was the sort of thing she excelled at, but if we still had her in charge I doubt we'd be anywhere near this mess anyway
