Reeks of stupidity. Have Real Madrid not have of this thing called the interweb? Unless he's putting his fingers in his ears "la la la I'm not listening, I'm still the most expensive player" surely one day he is going to find out (If he doesn't know already) that Bale is the most expensive. I mean what next? Are Real Madrid going to put an injuntion on Sky Sports and the British media forcing them not to mention that Bale is the most expensive player ever if Real Madrid were to draw an English side in the knockout stages?
 
Can't we just let this thread slide? He doesn't play for us anymore, who cares for Gareth Bale? He certainly didn't care for Tottenham Hotspur anymore.

Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo is unhappy with the arrival of Gareth Bale - according to Spanish football expert

Real Madrid fans packed out the Santiago Bernabeu as they eagerly anticipated the official presentation of world-record signing Gareth Bale - but not everyone at the club is happy.

talkSPORT's Spanish football expert Graham Hunter claims Cristiano Ronaldo is "miffed" with the arrival of Bale and doesn't expect him to welcome the Welshman with open arms.

"The decision by Real Madrid to buy Bale, and to buy him in this manner, is the thing that Ronaldo is miffed about," he said.

"Ronaldo is a proper professional and he will treat Bale adequately and professionally, but he might not welcome him with open arms."

As well as being angry with Real's pursuit of Bale, Ronaldo is "very unhappy" with the La Liga giants' decision to sell Mesut Ozil to Arsenal.

Speaking to Spanish sports daily Diario AS, Ronaldo said: "The sale of Ozil is bad news for me. He is the player who knows best my movements in front of goal. I am very unhappy about the sale."

Ozil provided 27 assists for Ronaldo at Real Madrid - the most in his career. The next best are Karim Benzema (17) and Ryan Giggs (16).

With that in mind, it's easy to see why the Portgual international is unhappy with Ozil's switch to Arsenal - a claim Hunter reinforces.

He added: "Ronaldo doesn't feel this is the way that the club should have proceeded."

Reports suggest Ronaldo is on the verge of agreeing a new long-term contract with the Bernabeu outfit, but Bale's arrival has cast doubts over such claims.

Ronaldo is said to be leading a player backlash at Madrid, giving recently-appointed boss Carlo Ancelotti a difficult and uneasy start to life in the Spanish capital.

A cheap throwaway line to try to appease the fans. If he really wanted to be here, he'd still be here. I dont think that he really cares for the club, I think that was just a PR excercise.

I wish him all the success at Madrid and in my little dream world, I am hoping Levy's last line in his statement is an indication that we either have a buy-back clause or there has been a conversation during the saga where it has been mentioned that he would like to return to Spurs at some point.

'Gareth will always be welcome at The Lane'.

Of course, I know that could also mean he will be given a VIP welcome should he return to watch a game as well ;)

NOW he's the most expensive player on the planet, Gareth Bale has got to get used to fervent fans.

But the £86 million Real Madrid star looked a little taken aback when two supporters got a little too close for comfort during a half-time warm-up in Macedonia.

The Wales winger was warming up on the pitch with fellow substitute Adam Matthews when they were confronted by two fans.

Celtic midfielder Matthews stepped in to give Bale protection before security staff hurriedly hustled the man away, and Bale did his best to laugh off the incident.

But it was still an alarming reminder for the 24-year-old of the sort of superstar attention that will follow him around since his world record move from Spurs.

Bale was named among the substitutes for the World Cup qualifier in Skopje amid concerns over his fitness and he failed to appear as Wales went down to a 2-1 defeat .

Gareth Bale says nothing could have stopped him from joining Real Madrid, claiming his "once in a lifetime" move was inspired by the opportunity to play in the Champions League and win trophies.

Bale joined the La Liga giants in an £85.3 million deal before the close of the transfer window. The Welshman insists he would not have stayed at Tottenham even if they had qualified for Europe's elite club competition.

He told BT Sport: "It's once in a lifetime and I don't think you can turn down a team like that.

"For me I want to be playing (in the) Champions League but also winning trophies.

"At a club like that they're out to win every trophy they're involved in. That's exactly what I want to do.

"When Real Madrid comes in it's a once in a lifetime opportunity. I think if I didn't take it I would probably regret it for the rest of my life."

Bale said he hoped the Tottenham fans would continue to hold him in high regard.

"The fans have been absolutely unbelievable with me," he said. "They've supported me through the bad times and believed in me.

"The nights they were cheering my name, I will never forget the great European nights at White Hart Lane.

"They were amazing and Tottenham will always have a place in my heart.

"I hope they understand Real Madrid is an absolute massive, massive club and they will understand and respect my decision."

I don't blame him. If a club, who I never supported, had an offer from Real MAdrid offered me a chance, I'd take it in a heartbeat. I wouldn't have to think about it. That doesn't mean that he didn't love his time here, the club or the fans. I think he genuinley did, he never handed in a offical transfer request. He may have put on the pressure but if he came out and said publicly "I want to leave" we would've got a cheaper fee for him and it would've shown disrespect.

THeirs pictures of Bale in a Real Madrid kit as a kid, and I'm about 4 years younger but like Bale said, all the kids at school would pretend to be Madrid players.There was always a fight to be Zidane, Ronaldo or Roberto Carlos. SOmetimes it turned to s****s. :lol:

Seriously, he has handled this transfer well. Compare him to MODric and BErbatov just for a moment. He has left graciously compared to them, and to the most succesful side in world football.

Let's stop being bitter he's left and just accept the fact he's moved to a much bigger club, got us a mssive fee and left us with world class performances we'll always remeber. And believe me, that's the first ever time I've said that.
