Gardens and stuff

Also get a burner so you can clear the weeds growing between slabs and blocks with pulling up the matrix between them. Lidl usually sell this stuff for peanuts.

The only job worth spending more than ten minutes on is dead heading and pruning and that is very zen.

I’ve got no veg this year apart from chilli’s that really helps keep the work down.

Spuds 'Jazzy' arrived today ready to plant for Xmas dinner.
I grow those, plant them in the spring though. Normally very high yield and store well. Not quite as large in size due to the dry weather, but got loads of them again this year. Also grow Marfona (but not this year) which I think are the best for baking.

I've never grown them before, hoping for a big yield - nothing better than homegrown produce.

Going to try Marfona next year (note on drive made to remind me), not grown those.

Has anyone tried pickling? I have a load of gherkins I need to do something with, and I think I'll try pickling them. Haven't a clue what to do, but what is the worst that can happen?
