It would be insane to say we have nothing to play for yet. But to be honest we haven't been on the same page as Liverpool in terms of the level of football they've played.

This after the last few seasons of easily being the better side of the two is utterly depressing. Good luck to them they deserve it with the football they've played

Fixed. I find it incredible that they've conceded two more goals than us, when we've had thrashings from them and city twice, accounting for nearly half of the goals we've conceded this season (16/33).

From a mathematical point of view, you are absolutely correct. However, Liverpool's opportune performances combined with the 7 point deficit, faced with the quality of football we have been playing, and add to that the horrendous fixtures in March makes me think, from a realistic point of view, it is an extremely big ask. The new manager "bounce" is over. As I opined earlier, my fear is that sadly, we have also lost Lloris, Verts & Soldado.

Think it is over now I'm afraid. Liverpool are playing well and could well end up winning the league. All the confidence is with them and we've not been good enough this season.

This appears accurate enough from the Liverpool perspective (except you know they'll beat us at Anfield), but let's be fair, those Spurs predictions are optimistic to say the least. Can't see West Ham finding a result against Liverpool but not against us, and beating West Brom away?? Yeah, that's a nailed on draw for me.

Having said this, if we are in any kind of position come the last day, i'm not sure my heart could take another afternoon of relying on another teams help in order to secure fourth!!

The luck is definitely with Pook too. Look at their last minute pen the other day, if that didn't happen the momentum suddenly shifts into our favour, but time and again they get the result when you just think the other team might get points off them.

Yes, as man united are likely to spend heavily next year, and may have the advantage of not even being in a European competition.

Whilst if you look at this years competition in the Europa, it doesn't look too bad.

Thing is, what if we somehow actually did finish Top 4? What would we do? Would we still have a fire sale and sell half the players cos we think they are rubbish? And get rid of a crap clueless manager, and bring in a Dutchman?;)

Wouldn't it be funny if you saw clubs to try and build a team therefore that goes all out to win the europa league -

And then tries to win it rather than going for top 4, which is insanely competitive, whilst doing the bare minimum to ensure qualification for the europa league every season.....

put all your effort into winning the carling cup or something.

I don't quite understand your logic..

We haven't won many cups, so we won't in the future? That doesn't hold to any sort of logical consistency. Looking at the teams left in this year, if we played our first team we'd have a decent chance of winning it.
