Football Trivia Question of the Day

Scotland? We've played them the most and the games can be tense (or were when they had football players or Billy Bremner).

Amazingly enough, in the 110 full internationals played against Scotland from 1872 onwards, there has never been an England player sent-off.

Probably not so amazing statistically. Sendings off were very rare until relatively recently and we don't play Scotland often.

Gerrard been sent of hasnt he? who was that against?

Answering my own question here, is it cheating as I was checking the England thread below and remember now Gerrard got sent of against Ukraine. Sorry knew it was pretty recent

Not that it makes much difference as cant rmember another one against Ukraine

first ever sending off in england?

No - BTW Spurs hold the Football League record for the longest period without having a player sent off.

It was 37 years from 27th October 1928 to 4th December 1965, when Frank Saul got his marching orders in a 1-1 draw with Burnley.
