This. PL clubs should not be bailing out clubs lower down the ladder. Lower league clubs should not have been spending the amount of money they have been - the excessive spending is a big part of why they find themselves in their current situation. They had nothing saved up for emergencies.

I’m just hoping they don’t just flex the FFP rules as there are teams like city who we know but Everton now cheating the system constantly to become a big side again
And it will happen even more in Europe

I would hope they had a plan B. Yes plan on predicted revenues but then have in mind "what if not". My mate is a Chairman of a non league club which is fan run and owned. He plans for the absolute worst in every eventuality for the club in his budget which means most season after FA Cup runs he sits on a pot of actual money that supports any push forward.

I would also hope you realise that my point is aimed at the likes of Bristol Rovers I think it is who are in 3m of debt, how? Clubs that make X but spend Y on wages they can't afford. There is no excuse.

Hence why (to the consternation of those who are never faced with such decisions) our club doesn't count for CL money in its wage budgeting.
 
DAZN has started telling sports leagues that it will not pay rights fees for games that have been suspended or cancelled because of CO-VID
Sources say DAZN is believed to be the first media company to make such a decision
 
I wonder what will happen to the competitons prize money if they are not completed?

split equally for all participants or based on current standing (PL)
Remaining prize pool districted to remaining competitors (cups). I’m sure this will happen as we are out of CL and FA cup!
Not paid out for non completion?

I don't see any reasonable alternative to voiding this season and then starting again in August if possible

Why is that? In the grand scheme what loss is it to have one void season out of a history of over a hundred year of the game. We are living through a global emergency I just don’t see how in comparison finishing a premier league is that important? Just cancel it, there is more than just cause, just start a new season as per normal.

For FA Cups and FA Trophies let them keep it, why not? Reduce the prem prize money based on games played and pay winnings based on where teams currently sit.

Job done.

So all the clubs that were still in with a chance of CL qualification sue the PL for the £multi-millions they've potentially missed out on next season.

And clubs currently in the relegation places sue the PL for £multi-millions because they would still otherwise have a chance of escaping the drop.

What then?

The world is officially in a global recession, clubs are putting staff on Furlough at the highest level, clubs in Europes players are taking pay cuts, 70,000 dead so far globally. A football season being wiped off the records pales in significance and it would be hugely counter productive to sue the league for doing the best they can.
