He said it an a post match interview with Guardian journalist and professional gooner Amy Lawrence.
There no way Ade in the minutes between the game and the interview went to the club or the other players and got some sort of okay to say this.

I know because it came out a day later that it looks like Ade's comments where carefully through overnight or something.
But the reality is Lawrence got an exclusive interview because of her back in the day gooner connects with Ade and didn't have to write it up until monday.

I don't think that confirms what you think it does at all. The club would know full well how the atmosphere has been (AVB said the same thing on behalf of all the players last year post-match) and have likely sanctioned this because it's the feeling of the entire playing squad that they don't want to be playing in such a vile atmosphere.

Isn't King still a club ambassador? He would have been a very good choice - he's played recently enough for his opinion to be valid and he has the added benefit of not being tainted as part of the current ****e performances.

I suspect that Ade did it because the others did not want to. The attack on the Togo team at the ACN in 2010 seems to have made him care about his colleagues/friendships more and less afraid of speaking out.

Will agree on something though - King would have been a good guy to raise this. But maybe it's better to have someone that's actually on the pitch to talk about the feeling of being on the pitch. Then it kind of takes out Lloris too. Kaboul is a defender and maybe we need an attacking person to say it because his point is about showing for the ball and confidence. So the most senior attacker is Ade - Soldado, Eriksen, Lamela and Chadli haven't been here long enough.

At the end of the day there are excuses as to why any messenger would not have been the right one. But it gets to the point where we have to understand it's pretty much irrelevant, and simply listen to what is being said - on behalf of the entire squad.

The guy says whatever he wants and has done in interviews since he been at the club.

Nope, the message is right. Ade is the last person that should be saying it. It's nothing but stupidity from the club having him say it as it will not have the resonance as it would from a player people actually respect.

If a player who is already working his ar5e off - let's say Kane - comes out and says "I'm really doing my best, but it's tough with the fans being so negative" people will listen. If Ade comes out with "Well I would try, but fvck it - I have no pride or shame and I get paid whether I bother or not. BTW, could you all cheer me a little more please, my money isn't suitable recompense for standing on the touchline with my thumb up my ar5e" people won't listen.

Fair enough i guess.

However as the most experienced player we have and the Vice Captain he is probably the one to deliver the message if thats what felt by the players. He isnt the first one to say this about the crowd not helping either.

Im not sure a 21yr old with 1 PL start under his belt should be speaking for the dressing room if thats what Ade was doing.

I have taken some heart that there seems to be a quiet majority who are getting as fed up as me with our own fans, and that getting our tottenham back is as much to do with the attitude from the stands as it is from the players.

If we love the club and are waiting to be entertained before supporting it, then what makes the crowd better than the players. I don't buy the money argument, we were here before the money and a number will be here after the money. Some people in life are driven by money, some by other things, football is no different.

I feel the same as Adebayor, going to a home game is not an enjoyable event and hasn't been for about 3 years. The general atmosphere has been poor and where I sit in the North Stand is just poisonous. Everyone is entitled to their opinion on the club,team and players but why they have to pour their bile over everyone around them is beyond me as it does nothing to improve the situation they continually moan about. If they want to moan they should save it for the pub after the game or come on here where they will find plenty of like minded souls. The ultimate action would be to boycott games where the club would feel the pinch such as Europa or League Cup matches.

I would be delighted if the poisonous fans showed that they were more than just mouth by actually boycotting games.

Going to WHL might then become an enjoyable experience once again.

I think this is some statement issued by the dressing room, or certainly something that's felt by all of the squad. Those firing back at Ade because he isn't the flavour of the month striker, like the THST, are missing the point.

I think they'd get a player who is widely respected by most of the fans to do an interview with the Sky or the BBC.

They wouldn't get a player widely criticised by most fans to do it.

In fact, pidgeon holing Ade as someone who is not 'respected by most of the fans' is kind of part of the problem. He is one of our players. He is making a point that the atmosphere is rubbish for the entire squad to play in. And instead of listening and wondering what we can do for help, what do we do? Ade is a spacegoat. It's us vs him. It's completely part of the problem with our crowd. Whether it's Jenas or any of the players that have followed him, there always has to be a spacegoat.

To be honest, who f'ing cares if Ade is not the most respected? Why is that relevant? Why should we not support him? And why is he unqualified to comment on the atmosphere of the ground and how it is affecting the squad?

And someone please answer my Lee Young-Pyo point. What was better and more helpful? Massive booing because he made a mistake? Or massive cheering because we wanted to get behind him? Why on earth should there be a divide between us and Ade that makes his point less relevant? He's done worse things to fans of other clubs than he has to us.

Yea I'd like to think I'm growing up. I mean it still kind of ruins my week when Spurs lose, but I can get over it and actually have a bit of a laugh about it.
