Famous Spurs Fans

Just listening to BBC Sounds "Why do you hate me?" podcast. The episode deals with online hate for Premier League players and the presenter Marianna Spring (The BBC's disinformation correspondent) stated she's a Spurs fan (in a bit about not having seen a Premier League trophy...).

Which is fine. But he's the guy who hired Arsenal season ticket holder Charlie Eccleshare to cover Spurs. Wouldn't remotely have the onions to hire a Spurs fan to cover Arsenal.

Reckon it's time you got over me pointing out this obvious tinkle take. Jelski-KY rationaizes his decision because he's the first openly gay football journo so that gives him the right to make bold decisions. Meanwhile, try stuffing a Spurs fan into the Arsenal beat and there''d be open revolt. So this editor hasnt been brave or ballsy, just stood up for a bloke who gets his round in.i

Eccleshare’s opinions on Spurs are studiously fair, imho. In fact, they’re often overly-optimistic; he’s still tipping us to finish fourth on the latest View From the Lane this week. Not sure I share that particular sunny viewpoint…
