Everton are just us, a nearly team. They go on good spells of form everyone now and then but they just don't have what it takes to compete at the very top.

I have thought this for years. Its uncanny some times.
They are the Northern version of Tottenham.
They even have neighbours up the road who play in Red, who they struggle to finish above year in, year out.
Had one season in the Champions League and uncannily the year they did finish 4th to qualify, the team that finished 5th won the CL the same season. (Although at least they got to still play in it)

Unfortunately its all in the stadium fund.
We only seem to spend what we get in from our outgoings, and sometimes less. I think we actually shown a profit in the last few. So it looks to me like we are just banking the Sky TV revenue and the monies you get from finishing 4th,5th,etc
It will probably happen again this summer. Ship out some deadwood, sell the CL wannabees, and rake in about £50m-£60m then spend £40-£50m, the balance and the £30m or more we get from Sky will probably go into the Stadium kitty.
Unless of course when you said we, you meant Arsenal.....(only joking)
