FA Cup 25/26

Unfortunately it's the two least prestigious trophies they are out of, but hopefully it gets in their heads mentally and City can step up in the PL and Barca/Atletico in the CL (assuming Sporting Lisbon can't do it in the Quarter Finals).

When I was a kid the winners of FA cup was the one team virtually everyone in the country knew about, league was important only to fans, European Cup had just started and there was no League Cup. FA Cup day was one of the big sporting days of the year along with Grand National and Boat Race day.

Well, we've changed century twice since then 😜

Sounds like FA Cup was the Super Bowl of its day, no wonder ENIC want nWHL to home an NFL franchise! 🏈🏆🎉

Why did Nicholson get so lauded for winning the Double though if nobody gave 2 hoots about the First Division Title back then?

@SteveAWOL because it was seen as nigh on impossible to win both. This was a time of no subs, gruelling travel, dodgy pitches, proper tackles and virtually the same 11 every game.
None of this 5 sub lark, can't touch a player, perfect pitches and squad rotation.
That answer your question? :p

Can't decide who I want to progress out of Wham and Leeds as they're both in the scrap with us.
Just hope there's a few injuries on both sides, not career ending but maybe season ending.

Leeds, don't want West Ham potentially having the chance of drawing Southampton in the SF and a massive potential for an FA Cup Final

Given West Ham are below us, just, I have to go for Leeds to win today. Don’t want West Ham getting that spark from making it to a Fa Cup SF. Although on the other hand maybe it might be a distraction?

It was a big thing to win double as no club had since 1897 and only 2 in the history of the professional game. Back then there was little sport on TV, most people didn't get them to mid 50's and only live sport was FA Cup Final (1953) Boat Race (1949) Grand National (1960) and some Test cricket (1956) but only in 30/60 minutes during day. Sport was a leisure pursuit to be enjoyed not the money machine it is now with every action dissected and full of hate filled followers at home in front of TV in their underwear consuming beer and pizza.

Love the FA Cup and it used to be our trophy. We won it in the first season I started going to Tottenham (1990/1991) little did I know that some 35 years later we wouldn't have won it again!

Don't want Arsenal winning anything but of course the CL would be the worst thing for them to win.. They've never even managed a UEFA/Europa before let alone the Champions League and European glory is the one thing we hold over them. Please let that continue.
