How would the ESL stop that kind of movement? Did bournemouth ever challenge for the Premier league or for European places regularly? I'm not saying that's right, I'm just saying that the ESL won't change anything in the context of the football pyramid. Teams will still go up and down within the leagues, better teams will still poach players from teams beneath them (league 2 to league 1 not just championship to Premier league), new clubs will still get into the ESL etc
And IMO since the '92 season, its been about money, and we all moaned when Alan Sugar ballsed it up for us when he didn't spend on those early days... so yes, we all want to pretend that this change is abhorrent, but it's the likes of Everton and Villa and Leicester who should be feeling that, not us....I don't care about them personally, I want to be able to see my team play against the best in the world
But, and it's a big but, I actually watch a lot of youth football, so I'm still hopeful of seeing players come through our youth set up - like kane and skipp for us, foden for city, mount for chelski, saka for scum, rashford for united etc. So long as that still happens, I'm at peace with this
