Seeing as you get fudge all money for winning it, I think a CL place should be the least they could offer. Let's face it, the reason that the League Cup and Europa League are seen as a distraction to the club hierarchy is because there is no money. Maybe different reasons for the players and manager, but for the club it's all about the greenbacks.
When's the draw for the last 32?
To the best of my knowledge these teams are through:
Group winners: Lyon, Metalist Kharkiv, Rubin Kazan, Fenerbache, Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk
Runners up: Sparta Praha, Bayer Leverkusen, Inter, Borussia Mönchengladbach, Napoli
CL rejects: Dynamo Kiev, Olympiakos, BATE Borisov
Undetermined: Hannover, Levante, Lazio, Genk, Bordeaux, Saudi Sportswashing Machine, Atletico Madrid, Viktoria Plzen
Group winners and the 4 best CL teams will be in one pot, the rest in the other.

Source: football-italiaFederation President Giancarlo Abete confirms a plan to “return Serie A to 18 teams as soon as possible” and send Europa League semi-finalists into the Champions League.
There have been many clubs critical of the switch to 20 sides in the Italian top flight and it’s reported cutting down could save millions as well as increase competitiveness.
“I can say we all hope to return Serie A to 18 teams as soon as possible,” the FIGC President told RaiSport.
“We are also studying a plan with UEFA to reward the Europa League semi-finalists by giving them qualification for the next season’s Champions League.”
yeah was really good. The sights were nice and the climate was perfect. A few shisters about trying to con people but a lot of ciies are like that. Not many pubs about, though! Before the game we were shuttled to the ground in buses which was a great laugh , a lot of singing etc. Good trip, only marred by the cowardice of 40 or so ItaliansApart from what happened before the game, how was the rest of the trip to Rome? Certainly sounded like you all made some noise in the ground
Europa League semi-finalists to qualify for Champions League?
