Credit to both Portugal and France for progressing to the Final. Portugal managed to win their first game over 90 mins at once ! But they didn't really have to work hard to beat Wales. They were inspired by Ronaldo who scored 1 and assisted another of their goals. In contrast Bale was unable to inspire Wales.
Similiarly, France were inspired by 2 goals from Griezmann. Amazingly, he has now scored 6 goals in this Euro. Only Platini of France in 1984 have scored more goals (9 goals) in a Euro tournament than Griezmann ! It was not really surprising to see France making use of their home advantage to beat Germany and progress to the Final. But credit to France for managing to beat Germany for the first time in a major tournament since the 1958 World Cup !
Special mention about Germany. I have always been convinced that Germany will not be as successful as the old West Germany once were. They have simply lost the magic and invisibility of the West Germany. They have now lost 4 of their last 6 semi finals and have not won the Euro since 1996. If not for the biggest bottler in football history, Higuain, Argentina would have beaten them in World Cup 2014 Final.
