Erik Lamela (announced by Roma p.41)

Re: Erik Lamela

Given the choice

Willian

or

Lamela

I have seen neither barring one or two youtube vids.

Willian for me. He would add a lot more creativity. We already have a better version of Lamela on the books. If Bale was to leave then both :)

Re: Erik Lamela

Erik Lamela is on his way to London with his father, and agent for a possible meeting with Spurs on Tuesday.

oooh... source?

EDIT: just asking so I can see if there are quotes associated with it, or if it's "sky sources report" thing, which should always be taken with a pinch of salt.

Re: Erik Lamela

I soucred the story thats all over twitter its from Gianluca Di Marzio who is a reporter/journo for Sky Sports in Italy

And it actually turns out Lamela is not going to London his entourage is (ie his dad and his agent)

http://www.gianlucadimarzio.com/calciomercato/lamelas-entourage-will-be-in-london-tomorrow/

Lamela’s entourage will be in London tomorrow

Erik Lamela and Tottentham. In previous days we had mentioned Walter Sabatini, Roma’s sporting director, trip to London to meet with Tottenham. Just some discussions, nothing too advanced, also because they were waiting for the Osvaldo to Southampton deal. Today, however the entourage of the player will fly to London to meet with Tottenham. From Roma we are hearing it could be just a vacation. Roma is stating there is no authorization for them to speak with English club. In the meantime, Lamela is practicing with his teammates getting ready for first match of season. While his entourage travels to London.

Re: Erik Lamela

If we signed Lamela, would he and Bale fit in the same side? I've not seen Lamela play, but I understand he is strong, quick, scores goals and is kinda like Bale.

Would the forward line look something like this?

---Lamela---Bale----Chadli
----------Soldado

Interesting that the 3 behind Soldado would all be 6ft+ in that lineup. Really would be a proper team of beasts.

Re: Erik Lamela

Is it just me or does this smell of the scum down the road, swooping in at the last minute and stealing him from us?

They could probably outbid us, Chamberlain looks to be injured for a while, Lamela is young and has loads of potential.....somehow this whole thing just seems way too good to be true. [-o<

Re: Erik Lamela

To be honest we have 3 choices and even if worst comes to the worst we could. . . .

Miss out on Bernard to the bin dippers

Go for Lamela and miss out to the Goons

Take Eriksen for silly money compared to the other 2.

4. Look to Holtby/Siggy/Carroll for that creative spark and save the dosh.

I cant see it. He plays in Walcott's best position and he's gonna cost 30m.

You'd have to feel a bit for Soldado though, as all three behind him would be very direct and prefer going for goal, rather than creating.

Willian would add much better balance (i.e. creativity). Lamela is the perfect Bale replacement though.

squad players rather than starters, unless you are happy for us to sit around 5th-6th position in the league forever. Neither of three these are good enough to start in our first choice 11 at the moment and there's no gaurantee that they ever will be

Re: Erik Lamela

Tottenham appear to be making headway in their bid to sign Erik Lamela after reports in Italy revealed Roma's sporting director flew to London on Tuesday morning.

Gareth Bale is still expected to join Real Madrid before the close of the transfer window and Roma forward Lamela is Spurs' number one target to replace him.

It has been claimed that Roma have no need to cash in on the Argentinian after selling Pablo Osvaldo to Southampton.

However, news of their sporting director Walter Sabatini's trip to London has fuelled suggestions Lamela will be heading to White Hart Lane.

The former River Plate star, 21, scored 15 Serie A goals last term.

Tottenham are also believed to be leading Liverpool in the chase to sign Brazilian playmaker Willian, who has been informed he can leave Russian club Anzhi Makhachkala.
