ENIC

I'm not going to argue against a mans opinion re ticket pricing, but with a new stadium and the demand for tickets that we have whoever the owners are/were they would be in the same bracket. That's a general gripe at the way football has changed imv but you're entitled to point the finger where you see fit
I didn't gripe, I gave mine up to no bluster at all (maybe only 3rd time I have mentioned it on here). I have an idea of what I feel is value for money and manoeuvre elsewhere me thats going to next years ashes instead.

I just think others have their right to gripe, those that feel it harder to walk away, I think they have a point,

I really don't understand how on one hand you can say the manager is in a rebuild, needs to be given time and should be judged on that accordingly while also shifting position on the club who are orchestrating the rebuild - if we are rebuilding then everyone needs the time to be judged accordingly.
GHod forbid, pulling in the same direction :)

Two of your opinions as I understand them are that:
- Poch didn't get a rebuild (agreed)
- Mourinho was appointed as an alternative to rebuilding (agreed)

That brings us to Paratichi - Paratichi led in to the Lange era so at most we're looking at this being a second rebuild but in reality it's a continuation of what Paratichi started. So no not the 4th or 5th rebuild as you have tried to paint it as.
Hmmmm..... Pochettino finally got a bit of money to spend and then sacked.
Mourinho then got a some money to spend and was then sacked.
Nuno then got a bit of money to spend and was sacked
Conte then got some money to spend and was then sacked
Postecoglou then got quite a bit of money to spend.

The 5 managers above, all have rather different ways of shaping their team compared to the others in the list. The players purchased for the previous manager's style of football are often not a good fit for the next manager coming in. I think it is fair to say that we have started 5 rebuilds and finished none.

I think now as a customer base where it feels transactional more than ever (I jacked my ST in because I am a firm believer of you touch yourself you makes your choice), I can see why people now feel there is a need to voice their opinion. We all know Enic are going nowhere but for the first time in a while I am sided with the fans who feel they wanna have a rant about it.
I find this a weird narrative.

I've been a game going fan since 86/87.
What I have done through the decades is exactly the same. Paid my money for a ticket (or on the turnstile) entered the ground and had fun/a laugh/delirium/excitement/sadness/misery/heartbreak delete as appropriate.

The way the club 'treats' me has very little to do with whichever of those outcomes come to pass on a match day.

How wounded can one be if they have a client reference number? Would a fan number be better? Am I upset that chirpy is no longer up to mischief on matchdays?

A ST or member relationship with the club has been pretty much what it is now ie a pack thru the door every year.
What else are you hoping for in this area?

Prices have in relative terms risen. But it safe to say so have the costs for the club. The costs we are always on the back of the club to pay.

I'd suggest a greater reason for disillusionment with going, and dis-attachment are those around you. The mindset is based in negativity and moaning (in the main).

The club structured the stadium to give us an amazing single tier 'home stand' , and what do we do with it?
I watch so many games from abroad (and I'm not sure if this is an English fan problem, not just Spurs) where the supporters are fully bought in, visually ,sonically and emotionally.

That's fine, it's a personal choice so I don't expect everyone to get it and I find that OK.

I can afford the increases, comfortably I just don't find the cost and associated costs value for money anymore, honestly it's as simple as that no more no less.

I don't think the PL product as a whole is worth what's being asked, I find 90% of it trash if I am honest.

different era, PLC at time, revenue was much more about buts in the seat.

It's extremely unlikely that local fans can in anyway influence change of ownership in a non PLC model. United has a very organized model (comparatively) that have been staging protest against Glazers for how long now? zero, literally zero effect.

And that isn't even getting to the type of people who turn up at these protests
While Spurs were indeed a PLC, Sugar owned a majority of the shares giving him a controlling stake. He sold his shares to ENIC after the pressure that came from the fans.

I must've imagined Sir Jim Radcliffe buying about 28% of Man Utd recently!

So, are you saying it's just a finance (value) thing? Is the way the club interfaces with you an issue?

Does the 'value for money' assessment fluctuate if we are doing well? Or is it nothing to do with that ie you compare it to other things you could spend your money on?

I actually asked myself that before I decided and honestly even if success came along I don't see the cost is value. As I say I don't see it PL wide if I'm honest, the product isn't as good as the PR IMO

Mate, just hold your hands up that you were embellishing for effect ffs

You think that was fan pressure? it's more Glaziers monetizing even more and taking less responsibility

I don't get you at all?

You disagree that we have gone through 5 permanent managers quite quickly and had all of them start a rebuild only to cut that short every time up to the current manager who is less than a season and a half in?

We didn't rebuild after Poch, we delayed and delayed because we thought the squad was good enough. You have made this very argument against the club many times over those years yourself. We didn't face up to the reality until we brought in Paratichi, Lange has then continued on from where he left off.

But what Romero said, still holds true. He's just simply saying that if things don't work out, then you go again....and again....and again. In many ways, he was saying that this is the new Spurs.

Poch got lambasted over Ndombele, but in reality Richi has cost as much and has had a very similar contribution. The difference now is that we're beyond the stadium build and COVID. One or two poor expensive purchases won't derail us like it did with Rebrov, Soldado etc.

Ditto with a change in 1st team coach, even though that is not the right call at the moment.

Slight nitpick, Richi's issues is injuries, not burgers ..

Point remains, we need to keep improving the squad, to me Richi, Bissouma, even Maddison are potential first team upgrades, LB, 2nd GK, RW are squad depth improvements

This topic is on the Romero thread as well. I find it quite inspiring that a senior player like Romero is intelligent enough to explain to the media what it takes to be a winning club. The lack of intelligence clearly sits with White and Jordan, as it never occurred to them that the player might be complimenting his club's model.

Three men have hit Levy with the truth about Spurs - and he’s ignored them all (The iPaper)

Decent read, this. Not posting the full thing here out of respect for the author, but there's some great excerpts, and it's good to see the media (including Sky) start rounding on our dear Daredevil Dan and his boss.

"It was approaching mid-August of 2017 and Spurs were the only side at that stage who had not signed a single player in the summer window.

At first, Rose’s words felt like heresy, a naked attack on Daniel Levy’s regime and a line crossed. “I am not saying buy 10 players, I’d love to see two or three — and not players you have to Google and say, ‘Who’s that?’ I mean well-known players.”

But Rose had simply said the quiet part out loud, as famously did Antonio Conte, when he flipped the Monopoly board having asked for a hotel on Mayfair and instead been handed the football equivalent of the Old Kent Road.

It cost Conte his job and he didn’t seem to care. His prophecy that “they can change the manager, a lot of managers, but the situation cannot change, believe me” still rings true around the boardroom of the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. Now Ange Postecoglou is the latest coach having to come out swinging with one hand tied behind his back.

That is certainly the consensus among the squad. This week Cristian Romero hit Levy with a few more home truths after watching a two-goal lead against Chelsea collapse with depressing inevitability.

Mauricio Pochettino was the last incumbent who genuinely looked on the brink of achieving the unthinkable, contesting two title races, a League Cup final, two FA Cup semi-finals and a Champions League final.

Then came 18 dormant months and the players Pochettino wanted – Sadio Mane among them, given their previous relationship at Southampton – went elsewhere. In a wholly unforeseeable turn of events, neither Clinton N’Jie nor Vincent Janssen fired Tottenham to the Premier League trophy.

That does not excuse the in-game management that contributed to the extraordinary capitulations against both Brighton and Chelsea. It does, however, leave Spurs fans feeling as if they have seen this film before and it never ends well for the manager. Under Levy, they have changed head coach on average every year and a half. In 23 years of Enic ownership, the trophy count remains at one.

Levy would never have lasted so long were he concerned with opinions. He has seen the “Levy Out” balloons float down from the South Stand onto the pitch, the “purple and gold until we’re sold” colourings and the “to dare is too dear” banners. He remains unmoved, as Tottenham veer in the wrong direction."
