False.
Teams in American sports don't own the players, the league does.

At least that's what we'd like everyone else to think! So £105m not going to happen then ?
Always appreciated his balls and determination, not to mention a few very very important tap ins. We say the Old Trafford goal was excellent, the one at home to Utd was equally important in terms of team vibe IMHO...good luck Clint.
Thanks for the important goals Clint. It never quite worked out, but you did a decent job. I wanted to love you when you joined, but I only ended up liking you. If could've been so much more.
AVB has confirmed Clint Dempsey's departure was to fund other activity in the transfer window.
Where did he say that?
he said it in the post match press conference yesterday.Where did he say that?
the problem is, we have needed someone who can do that, play a part, for a long time.
Scrappy goals count just as much as spectacular.
I assume this is Deuce's ask, not us pushing or needing the money
Clint Dempsey can return on loan to Tottenham or any other Premier League club in the winter as part of a contract which will earn him more than David Beckham banked during his stay in Major League Soccer.
The United States international has moved from Spurs to Seattle Sounders in a £5.8million deal after signing a three-and-a-half year contract last week.
Dempsey has a clause in his contract allowing him to go out on loan when the MLS season finishes in November and he could return to Spurs, although Everton are believed to retain an interest in the Texan.
Spurs may be keen to take him back as manager Andre Villas-Boas admitted it was a difficult decision to let him leave because of his versatility and popularity with both staff and team-mates.
The 30-year-old, who scored 12 times during his one-season stay at White Hart Lane, will earn an annual salary of £5.2m which tips the pay handed to Beckham when he joined LA Galaxy, New York Red Bull striker Thierry Henry and other European stars who have crossed the Atlantic to ply their trade.
The reason the former Fulham player has been so richly rewarded is that he is a top-flight performer currently in his prime.
Seattle play in front of regular 40,000 crowds and are funded by an ownership group including Hollywood producer and director Joe Roth, who Is responsible for Alice In Wonderland and Snow White and the Huntsmen and television hit Anger Management.
fcuk he is wearing that number 2 shirt over there too..........for that reason alone im glad he is gone. a forward that wears a full backs number??? Its almost as bad as this...wrong, just wrong!!!
