You don't know the basis for The Guardian's story. Sweden have two world cup qualifiers in November: 15th November away to Switzerland and 19th November home to Slovenia. So would appear the national manager's commenrs put his likely return to fitness into the end of the year at the earliest.The source of this is an off cuff remark by the Swedish national manager that he wouldnt be back for them till the new year. But as international teams dont play between October and March, that just means he isnt expecting him back for the October fixtures.
The Spurs line has always been late summer/early autumn anyway, so i dont think anything has changed
