I actually do think Sissoko could have done better here. I can’t be definitive, because I don’t know exactly where the breakdown was, and who was supposed to be tracking who, so maybe Sissoko was sticking higher to press an inside pass from Mings, and Winks wasn’t anywhere to be seen in front of the defence as he was forward.
So maybe it was the result of us taking an offensive risk and getting caught, and the team broke down, but I do think Sissoko is usually closer to the danger than he was to McGinn here. With that said, we let the ball bounce, and we still outnumber them 3 vs 2 and Sanchez and Rose both also could have done better.
It feels like there was a breakdown somewhere, or maybe as Finney says some high winds gave that pass the distance it usually wouldn’t have gotten.
