bullet dodged IMO, the price suggests to me that Athletico think it's a punt as well, Barca obviously happy to have him off the wage bill

Well to be honest the ITK got it right saying that a deal for Villa would be announced on the same day as we reveal our new kits.
 
I'm not just kidding myself here, but there's absolutely no reason we cant offer the same then let the player decide.
 
Yeah for 4.4m I doubt we were not in for him. Im sure we offered the AM value etc but he clearly wanted to stay in Spain. Im sure the older a player gets the more they just feel settled and his family etc. Oh well.

Would have been awesome to have him and bring someone else in.

Whilst I am not THAT upset (although Villa has been one of my heroes since Valencia days) it would have been awesome as at worst we would be going in with the current two plus Villa. The longer this goes on (not panicking yet though obviously) the more I will get worried. I would love a striker to settle in and have a good pre season before the start of the season which is five weeks away.

This is beyond frustrating don't see how window after window we go without addressing our most glaring need. Sign a fudging striker ffs.
 
If we didn't outbid AM then there must be other players lined up to come in, its not the end of the world.
