most likely that Villa will be looking for one last massive pay day.....that rules Spurs out I guess

My other half fancies villa and I said if we sign him I will run around naked in our neighbourhood..........

as I dont believe it will happen in a million years.........

personally I wish these rumours would go away but they keep gathering pace.

its not a levy signing but if he got us 10-15 goals next season maybe it would be good.....

Its to much of a gamble imo thats if he will even consider joining us.

Atletico Madrid are completely skint and owe 200m in taxes and the EU are asking questions of why the Spanish govt are requesting bailouts but not going after unpaid taxes. Me thinks they wont be spending big this time around at all unless a third party loans them a player like they got Falcoa. They will probably only get 10-20% of his transfer fee.

If someone had told you 28th May 2012 that Lloris would be a Spurs player by the end of the window, would you have believed them?

No comparaison.

Villa is a world cup winner coming from the best world in the club. Villa is on top wages and could get a massive contract somewhere.

We were a step up for LLoris in a way, coming to a better league, and better wages.

And one is a goalkeeper, the other one is a striker.

I'd still have denied the fact that Lloris would come to us. He is much better than that. Could get into the majority of the teams in the world. I'm very glad he is here though and hope we can give him the success he deserves, he could be our goalkeeper for 10+ years.

Its an unbelievable signing. Hes up there in the top 3 top keepers in the world. And I think he isnt playing at his best yet. You'll see next season.

As for Villa, I just think he could get top wages if he wanted to, somewhere like PSG or Monaco, or even Chelsea, and if a club like Arsenal or Juventus came for him we wouldnt stand a chance.

The only way we could get him was if we were the only one after him. We cant offer him good wages, and we are not in the CL. It just wouldnt make sence. I like dreaming but it just wont happen.

I think Burt mentioned the other day that Villa and AVB are acquaintances.

Yeah, here we go:

Villas-Boas’s good relationships with Baldini and Villa, who is available for just £11million, albeit accompanied by high wages for a 31-year-old, could be key to their arrivals.

Well, that is something I didnt know. But in the last few weeks I have seen that Villas Boas is best mate with most players we've been linked with...

Of course if they REALLY are best mates, then it helps.. I wont deny that. He'll still want top wages..

AVB is apparently a serial text pest. Remember Willian mentioning it last summer.

Well all the text flirting with him didn't work did it...That being said I do think Villa is a feasible signing, I don't think many of Europes elite would be interested or be able to offer him guaranteed first team football, we're one of the best options from the next tier of teams in Europe.....

I sincerely hope we're talking to other clubs about more realistic targets in parallel to going after Villa and Leandro. Neither are likely to happen (by which I mean that each probably only has a 10% - 20% chance of coming off) and I just pray that we dont get to the end of July before we work further down our list of CF targets. By the time you get to the end of Jul, it becomes a slippery slope with selling clubs wanting to make sure they have a replacement CF in for the start of the season etc etc and it gets harder and harder

Shakhtar wanted too much money.

Barca want £10m..

Would Levy consider that too much money for someone his age? We shall see, like I say I think we could well get him...

We might but it would still be a coup and its low probability. Hope they're progressing more realistic/high probability alternatives (eg Benteke type level for whom a move to us would be a step up) in parallel

10 mill for a 31 year old is too much for Levy imo....he will try and get Villa for 4 mill. Then Sandro Rossell will say that Levy was the most cnutish cheap chairman he has ever had to negotiate with
