And mate, going to the Fkcing Sun of all papers to stitch the club up which is what he has done is terrible. I can not get my head round it on any level.

Also Neville is right, a player who missed 4 months who is now in the papers now goes back to pre season to a squad he is deeming not good enough and just says "hi guys"

We have a huge issue now as Poch and Levy have to deal with someone who is trying to dictate a whole club, his actions, lack of respect to people who are ultimately his employers are unforgivable and difficult to deal with now.

From a personal point of view, I want us to progress and I want us to sign players but you know what I love the club and for me this little Pr1ck has taken our club and dragged it through the sh1t in one of the worst papers in the world and for what? For being a fudge1ng stand up club that runs within tradition and not the new wave of buying success? One that in the last 5 years has bucked the trend and finished 2nd twice against the spending power of others, one that has a good English spine and promotes youth...would that be the youth system he himself come from? I can't forgive him for this personally because it goes against for me the main man in all this....Poch
 
He should consider that at a bigger club has an injury for a couple of months and unlike here he won't walk straight back into the team. He'll find they went out and replaced him, and not with a Google player.

Something that obviously has sunk in for some of our players yet, these big clubs don't want them just to make them a stronger team, it's as much about weakening us.

I think that most of the players will be familiar enough with the club's financial situation and business model to understand that we will do the lion's share of our business at the end of the window.

I doubt any of them are expecting us to sign first 11 players. Whilst the squad could do with a few additions, we are really talking about tinkering at the edges. Besides, Rose talking to the Sun has nothing to do with our transfer business and everything to do with his pay packet.

In the short term it does. .....it just keeps the cnuts at arms length a little longer and makes the players feel they are being better rewarded for all the effort they are putting in making us a team challenging for the title.

If we do not pay market value then our best players will be tempted to move and earn more elsewhere. Upping salaries by 10 or 20 grand is going to nothing to help hold onto the players who would be tempted to move now.

I don't agree. If we paid Rose £100k he could still have his head turned by a further 50% increase at United and his agent would still try to talk him into it so that he could get his cut.

I agree. Mourinho does this to a direct rival every season. The fight for a top four place will be tight this season. Distracting us at the beginning of the season could be the difference between them finishing in a CL place and not.

The new TV deal alone sees our revenue increase by 50m +/-, if we keep our wages at a similar percentage of our turnover that's potentially a substantial increase to a lot of first team players wages - not a paltry 10 or 20 grand

THIS THIS THIS.

Hell we could pay them £150k a week and the answer could still be "we want to go to X or Y club to win trophies".

There is no guarantee that by vastly increasing our wage bill we will gain success all we do is become financially unstable.

I love the insinuation that it's his team mates that aren't good enough to help him win trophies, couldn't possibly have anything to do with him.

Players will always have their heads turned but that doesn't mean we shouldn't at least try to pay them a better rate for the results they are currently achieving. This bunch have turned us into title challengers

Chelsea got £50m more for winning the league last season than Leicester did the year before. The market rate figures I calculated a few pages back would account for most of this before tax.

Yep, they'll all be familiar with the situation, agreed. There's also a big risk though if you leave things to the last week or two.

Regarding whether its about wages or transfers, they're linked - he talked about winning things, for that we need to progress and others have added players whlist we haven't and therefore standing-still means we go backwards relative to others. We all know that he could earn a lot more elsewhere (and not just a bit more, probably double) so you could understand him thinking that he's happy to commit to the club in his peak years and earn less than he could elsewhere if we're going to be competitive for trophies. However earning half the amount compared to elsewhere wouldnt feel great if we're also not going to be challenging for trophies

If our overall revenue increases so does our available wage budget - that's just common sense, no?

Our wage structure has to be based on the finances of the club and not where we finish. We do get more money for better performances but that doesn't get us anywhere close to being able to match Arsenal, Chelsea, ManU, City or Liverpool's wages.
