I think it’s the long term income security which DL wants. At the moment it’s a missed revenue opportunity.

Oil states are outside of our influence.
 
Yes, integrating 4 or 5 will be difficult but that is where we are. I would look to replace:
Eriksen (if we can't hold him), Aldeweireld, Llorente, Trippier, plus bring in a Dembele replacement plus - controversial - replace Lloris.
Cue AVB style meltdown and 2 points after 5 games :)

I think Levy has made a gamble (and usually his financial gambles pay off)

He could have taken a naming rights deal this season and would have had to accept less due to some negativity around the delays, lack of guaranteed CL (until last day) and also the unknown of how far we would progress in CL.

Now, he will negotiate a naming rights deal for a CL regular who made it to finals, guaranteed games in CL next season and none of the half season/delays issues around stadium. He will get a better deal.

@ShipOfGoldblum as @Jon said, its more the additional secured revenue stream vs. total amount, could cover our interest payments as example

More so then even Poch in some ways, Levy is the most important man at the club. When we lost Carrick we thought it was all over, then Keane then Bale and so on. But this guy has had us constantly improving. Imagine what he can do when the money finally comes on stream.

Could not agree more, we all know that Poch is one of the best managers in the game however we would not be where we are as a club if had not been for the work of Levy.

Can also point to the non-Spurs events already booked in for the next year as a sign of the stadiums reach outside of football
 
I have it on very good authority that we are going to change a large part of the make up of the team in the summer with a HUGE recruitment drive, Spurs 2.0 incoming.

The club was never going to go into new WHL with marque signings without knowing the final costs and the extent of profits. Now we know and the profits are VASTLY more than expected, the additional events are booked in and we have the naming rights and a squad cull to come. Add to that the money Poch didnt spend last summer and the CL run, from what I have been told we are going to go BIG.

I hope that’s true but we do have to remember that integrating a lot of players is a big job. Klopp did it well by slowly introducing players like Robertson, Fabinho and Shaqiri. Poch may have to do the same.

Thats not going to happen though as even if you look at the fringe there are many to go with the likes of Wanyama etc.

I think he can do it. Say he signs a RB, CB for Toby, CM, AM for Eriksen and backup for Harry.

He doesn’t need to put them all in at the start. Aurier or Foyth can play RB. Sanchez is a very good CB with Jan.

The CM probably goes in as does the Eriksen replacement.

It’s vital we don’t have another “Bale-money” moment.

We have a much better core now than we did the summer when Bale left. Kane, Alli, Son, Dier, Winks is the nucleus of a very good team. Two or three (not seven) good buys - Sessegnon, Ndombele, Lo Celso, maybe a right back (Wan-Bissaka would be great), and we will be flying next year.

The thing people are perhaps overlooking when talking about a squad overhaul is that, unlike with the Magnificent Seven.. we don't actually have to integrate any of them into the squad straight away.

It's a different predicament to one where we have to play new signings straight away - and I think that allows for a level of flexibility with regard to the number of incomings. It might be more than we think.
