It's either this or time to sell. His stock may never be higher. 2 years left means IMO we have to take some kind of action. Liverpool gambled with 3 of their big players and 1 decided to go, which makes me think they were lucky. If they hadn't won the league, I don't think any of them sign.

After actually winning something, it could be the time for a squad makeover. Depends also on who the manager is in August. I personally am 50/50 on whether Romero will still be here as well.
 
I feel like I have been one of Romero’s biggest supporters on here. I want him to stay as many more years as he can with us. Hopefully now we are in the Champions League we can persuade him that we are in the right place to be. He leads by example, he gives his all and he’s rightly recognised by many as being one of the very best defenders in the World. I want us to offer him a new contract, break the wage ceiling, it’s time for us to become serious as a football club and start paying the top money for the right players. That’s if we don’t want to make last night a one off.

I reckon he’ll be off to Atletico, where the football and lifestyle will suit him, and where he can be managed by a fellow Argentinian.

He needs a better coach to elevate him towards maldini status of captain-CB.

And no I do not put finishing 4th above winning UEL, even if prize money is greater. If you do I feel bad for you GB
