Coronavirus

I agree the vaccine has been great for the pandemic but it certainly also has its flaws, there was never an expectation of having three within a calender year and we have had to learn along as we go with the vaccine as we have with the vaccine. And the main benefit has been to reduce the symptom in the person that's vaccinated any other benefit are far less conclusive and in my opinion there is not enough evidence for us to be able to shame the low risk groups for not having the vaccine.

Nothing is 100%.

That main benefit was very welcomed by me, and doubtless millions and millions of others.

Shaming? I have not looked to shame anyone. Personally I think not vaccinating is poor on a couple of levels. Rather than ‘shaming’ I’d prefer to say ‘educating’…it is surely important to educate people as to the benefits of vaccines versus some of the ridiculous conspiracy theories thrown around.

That’s the thing, people say that if you get jabbed your protected, but then get upset about unvaccinated people because they consider them a threat who might infect them and others.

Then, when someone who questions whether vaccines are necessary points out that even people who are triple vaccinated still get sick, and that the virus is going to go through all of us anyway... someone says “ahhh it will but you’ll be less likely to have severe consequences if your vaccinated.”

Then what’s your concern if you get it anyway if your triple vaxxed and aren’t going to suffer any severe consequence anyway?

If you’ve had 3 vaccines and you’re both still vulnerable to Covid, and still worried about suffering severe consequences then the vaccines are not doing their job properly.

Funnily enough I seem to remember the government saying we needed two vaccines for full protection against the virus during the vaccine rollout. what another load of lies! Isn’t what it was sold to us as in the slightest!

Before anyone says I’ve survived the entire pandemic unvaccinated without getting Covid. I worked in care so had tests every week and did lateral flows sometimes too. On 2 different occasions I didn’t get Covid despite working multiple 12 hour shifts sat right next to someone (colleague) who was positive, talking to each other face to face with masks down.

I decided to get first vaccine 2 weeks ago, purely because I have worked in care and if I move back to England it’s compulsory to be vaccinated. I also know that further measures will be brought in over the next year.

Never in my life have I felt more forced into doing something I don’t agree with to please others. As someone at risk of Huntington’s disease, I worry about anything I put in my body that can bring Huntington’s on earlier. Even eating too much dairy or not exercising can I need TP for my bunghole earlier)

A health decision that is no one else’s business what so ever has been asked about by quite a few people, and it implied I should feel guilty for putting other peoples health at risk. tinkle off, you have no rights to ask why I have came to the decisions I have or what my reasons for not getting vaccinated are (were)

A health decision that is no one else’s right to determine by myself has seen pressures put around me to make my life uncomfortable if I don’t conform to what people want. And to think this is supposed to be a free country!

A health decision that could have severe repercussions on myself in future and leave me disabled if it goes wrong, cos who knows what happens to anyone over years, let alone someone with potentially a rare disease,

And then the most annoying part of it is that the vaccines don’t work properly anyway. They just make irrational people feel better somehow. You are not protected at all and the small amount of your protection you have wears of rapidly the moment you leave the clinic. Leading to one vaccine every six months so that people can stay fully - but actually not fully or completely - protected for about six weeks.

At the end of the day the vulnerable being triple shotted sounds right. If vaccines are legitimate now they are fully protected and won’t experience any ill effects can we just get on with things as normal? I doubt the last 15% who still refuse to be vaccinated are going to do anything that jeopardises anyone whose likely to suffer ill effects health, because the 3 vaccines mean they are fully protected and less likely to suffer ill effect, at leat according to what we were told, and everyone acknowledges the virus will pass through all of us.

It will only be the last 15% at risk of serious illness, supposedly, so what does it matter if the vulnerable are now jabbed? What needed to be done is done, get on with things and if people die of the virus still then it seems the jab isn’t working anyway.

And I guarantee you the vulnerable people dying at this point are so much more likely to catch the virus from someone whose triple or double jabbed, simply because thats the majority now.

Your anger is palpable.

I think to suggest that ‘vaccines don’t work properly anyway - they just make irrational people feel better somehow’ is really pretty contentious on several levels, not the least of which the statement lacks any basis of fact beyond a combination of your supposition and anger.

Your final sentence is bizarre; so it is more the fault of vaccinations that vulnerable people are dying?

I could wholly understand your position on vaccines re: what you put into your body if you are applying the same standards across the board, including the food you eat on a piece-by-piece basis (let’s be honest, the only true control you have in that regard is if you grow/cultivate your own), never take any medication whatsoever (or been subject to any vaccines), and have never engaged with an illegal substance/drug produced pulling the leaves off a marijuana plant.

I think your post and position highlights a huge issue we have pandemic-wise, which is the human and psychological side of this whole brick-show. At a time when we should all be pulling together to do the best we can for and by each other, divisions and rancor is continually being sewn between us. I don’t judge you per se -I disagree with your position on vaccines- but you obviously feel put upon, intimidated and defensive (in life on this issue). For me, that is unfortunate and solving that issue is the final key to achieving the sort of safety I believe will see everyone accept this is now an endemic issue and not a pandemic. I am interested to know the true roots of opposition to vaccination from those who eschew them; making people feel like parriahs is not part of my day for sure, and I am genuinely sorry if you currently feel that way in life…the truth is, many people are both scared and insecure right now on all sides. Here’s hoping we can recognize that truth amidst the weirdness.

1) For simplicity, let's imagine that vaccines make the effects of the virus 10% of what they would otherwise be i.e. rather than feeling atrocious for weeks or dying, you feel a bit ill or quite ill. Therefore, it is clearly worth taking the vaccines.
2) Let's imagine the risk from taking the vaccine is 0.0001%, as it is well established technology which has been well developed for meany years. Therefore, it is clearly worth taking the vaccines.
3) Consider someone that works in care and needs to protect the vulnerable; the vaccine (and mask wearing) reduces the transferral of the virus. Therefore, it is clearly worth taking the vaccines.
4) Picture a health service on its knees, hundreds of doctors and nurses giving up or about to keel over, tens of thousands of operations and surgeries and cancer scans delayed because hospitals are overrun with Covid cases which would have been 10% if everyone had somehow been magically vaccinated on day 1. Therefore, it is clearly worth taking the vaccines.
5) Consider a virus which mutates, so you have to tweak the vaccine to deal with each mutation. Therefore, it is clearly worth taking the vaccines.

The worth of taking these vaccines is uncontestable.

Welcomed by me too for sure, Im not aiming the shaming at you BTW

Your Twitter feed must be a most curious place Marky. Although I have learnt my thing for the day - The Heritage Party, who knew?

Plan B to totally go from next week for England

Scotland and Wales carrying on with the unecessary control and ego feeding for their people in power

Why lift the mask mandates, there is zero downside to wearing a mask for most people, and exemptions for those with issues?

He’s throwing everything he can out there to try and distract from their abhorrent behaviour.

Why keep them? I get it for hospitals or visiting care homes, but why have to wear one when going in a shop or on a bus? They don't really do anything to slow spread, and we're not trying anymore. So what's the point?
Nobody is stopping you from wearing one. But fining someone because they don't is stupid.

Do they actually really make any difference at all ?
Most people use masks that they have used 50 times and cost 2p each, more than likely totally useless

because someone else on the bus or in the shop may be high risk

Then they can get themselves an n95 mask.

This is omicron not other variants. The massive spike in number of infections has caused no increasein deaths according to the government site. In fact the numbers of deaths have been falling since november.

Scroll down to deaths with covid on the death certificate (these are deaths from not with covid and are not limited to 28 days).
