Spare a thought for the US schoolteacher who had to spend five hours in voluntary self-isolation in a plane's toilet after testing positive for Covid-19 mid-flight.

Marisa Fotieo says she felt her throat hurt while travelling from Chicago to Reykjavik, Iceland, on 20 December.

Ms Fotieo says she performed a rapid test with a kit she had brought with her, which confirmed she was infected.

She remained in the toilet for the rest of the trip, and a flight attendant provided food and drinks to her

It's like the media saying 300 died yesterday when that was in fact the number from about 5 days added together after lag

At a glance...Add 61% of 7500 to 7500 and it probably adds up to the 11.5k they quote?

Not really. 7 days before it was just over 8000. 61% of 8k is 4880. So a 61% increase would be 12,880. Even 7,500 would be over 12k. Doesn't matter that much just a bit confused where they got 61%. It's quite specific.

Symptom study showing a fall in cases in london now. So not down to less testing over xmas. Which is great although cases still very high.

I don't think anything anyone does or doesn't do regarding COVID and masks will change that.
