They announced today they would start injecting the Astra Zeneca one on Monday. 5 wasted days. And the programme they have at the moment is, as others have pointed out, so slow that it’ll take the guts of a year to get anywhere.

I don't think that a slow start is necessarily a problem as long as they can scale up quickly. There will be teething problems and you will want to identify and correct those in a controlled way.

Yeah I ‘d love that as this program cannot be completed soon enough.

However, If i were a govt minister telling people to work on and turn up for vaccines on a bank holiday/double bank holiday and at weekends you’d be giving me short shrift no doubt and people wouldn’t turn up.

The major difference is that The AZ cold chain is much easier than is the Pfizer jab where the vials need to be stored at -80c. So normal fridges full of the az vaccine can go in he back to trucks and get out to care homes and gp surgeries etc in a way they couldn’t previously.

Primary schools to open this coming Monday, except in some (yet to be announced) Tier 4 areas.

When Portsmouth was in zone 4 and Chichester zone 2, their residents could have travelled into Chichester via dozens of different roads. It's impossible to police that.

I am expecting to see the figures to jump next week. I think that the data will not be logged as effectively over Christmas and New Year, much like we see over the weekends.

Pretty much all of Essex is in the exception area where primary schools are not opening (except for key worker and vulnerable children).
