I don't really know enough about their economic position to answer that.

I know that we can safely transport goods and materials through a pandemic though - we've been doing it for the best part of a year. Stopping leisure travel is a PH decision, stopping goods is a political one.

Is your point that within the EU they probably wouldn’t have closed the border?

I see the modelling for the new form of covid had Neil Ferguson involved again, what could possibly go wrong?

Standing up I front of the world and saying U.K. is a hotbed of super covid seems to have back fired quite badly.
 
I was about to post a link to the same article. A very interesting read

It is an interesting read, albeit one which if you're not a scientist is tough to fully grasp. The upshot appears to be that there are some mutations which are bucking the trend and springing up faster but it is too early to gauge the severity of their virulence? If there is another extrapolation I'm interested to know.
