. Ha, ha like this government could manage anything approaching that? Your response sounds very much like 'suck it and see.'
I doubt the government would be able to manage it they cant manage the response we are doing now though so its not really an excuse to say that it is against the realms of reality to work, if people that are capable were running the country.
The majority of those that need shielding live together in care homes so thats half your job done. You would just ask those working within the sector or in multi generational homes to also shield from the virus in order to service/protect that part of society. Then rather than paying those to stay home from work billions you direct that financial support to those areas. I dont see why people are so against the idea to be more targeted based on stats and supporting more of society than hurting everyone.
@Gilzeantoscore you have more and more Drs now daily and heads of charities warning of the issues of lockdowns and restrictions because they are the frontline of the fall out they cause. The risks increase for an increase in child poverty, unemployment, ill health physically and mentally, domestic and child abuse, surely as a socialist increases in those areas as a result and additional lose of life is a concern and not a trade off?
It really interesting that a frontline high profile GP within Tower Hamlets one of the most affected areas based on spread of the virus...
The Government must consider whether another Covid-19 lockdown would cause more harm than good to the population’s ‘health and wellbeing’, according to a group of nearly 70 GPs led by high-profile names.
‘Restrictions and lockdown have recognised value in pandemic control and we fully supported the first lockdown when little was known about the virus.
‘The position now is transformationally different: after the short, initial lockdown phase, the harms to long term health and wellbeing begin to outweigh the benefits.
GPs are concerned that a ‘one-track’ response to rising cases ‘threatens more lives and livelihoods than Covid-lives saved’,
