Whilst Spain is living its best life, having invested heavily in wind and solar a few years back, and now with energy bills half of anywhere else in europe.
I think there's a strong argument for diverting the entire defence budget for the next 5 years to building wind and solar, and reaching fossil fuel phase-out early next decade. Then we are free from all this insecurity, wars and costs forever

Most people don’t. You will have a 50/50 split of people that think climate change is an imminent threat to mankind and those who thinks the climate is change and its caused by humans a but it’s not something to be hugely alarmed by and that the methods to address it are flawed. Then a small group who think it’s a complete hoax.

Yeh I don’t beleive that’s accurate polling. It’s all about how you ask the question.
You do need things that unify a country and space exploration can certainly be one of those. Although I do think doing something that in simple terms has already been done is not something to excite the masses. First female on the moon would probs be a big deal.
Point is they are cutting NASA budget as well though
