Circus ManUnitus - Nobody's At The Wheel

On bbc saying they've extended wan-bissakas contract.

Seriously don't get that club. Sancho on £350k a week. Casemiro 4 year deal at £350k a week. And on...

If a new manager comes in, i don't know what he can do. Can't get rid of players. Even loaning them out you'd have to pay half their wages.

It's even worse

Contracts being talked about (extending) -> Wan-Bissaka, Lidelof & Evans? wtf?

Big talk today is Potter is the next manager, how the fudge do these people fail upwards?

United will remain a circus ..

I'm trying not be as guilty as the commentators/pundits are of confusing "Manchester United" the club, with what they were vs. what they are.

That said, was very weird to watch them concede to being not good enough against us (B team), sitting back and hoping to hurt us on the transition, to having 2 shots on goal all game, at Old Trafford .. how does that donkey ETH still have a job?

A dof, head of recruitment i can see. Ceo? What has his job been? Abu dhabi can we have more money but don't let anyone find out?

I think it's a weird call for two reasons

- United has to operate on a budget, fix past mistakes and build a new view, not sure his City experience is aligned
- The 115 charges, are they sure this guy isn't guilty of anything, tarred by association?

Not sure I see the big attraction, I'd also see City forcing him to sit on sidelines for 6+ months before taking on the role.

Rashford acting the prick again it seems. You have to wonder what’s going on at that club. Lots of people, Shearer included just now, saying it needs strong management but ETH has been pretty strong in dealing with poor discipline at United but it seems to make no difference. An absolute basket case of a club.

Just seen the story. So he went clubbing in belfast knowing he had training the next day then blew that out. On what planet is he living?

Going to have a look on redcafe to see what their fans make of it. It's funny when it's not us.

The planet that he's on £350K/week, long term contract and the club has zero chance of finding a buyer in the next 3 years and likely ETH won't be here next season.

United has half a team they couldn't fudging sell to anyone combined with a manager under pressure, no amount of discipline changes that, the players know they can outlast the manager (disaster recipe). Look at Sancho, he fudging won, he refused to apologise, United has sent him to a club where he is treated like a hero while United pays his wages (he must so regret that /s)

I don't know how you can fix them. They can't offload players. Nobody will pay their wages (maybe the saudis? But think they like to party too much to accept that). Loan them out till their contracts run out? But the players they brought in don't seem any better. Replacing the manager probably won't help.

They're fudged and i love it.

I'm not sure how Radcliffe can be found to be a 'right and proper person' to own a football club, when through his oil and plastics he's literally doing more than any other person on earth to destroy the world.

Will be interesting to see Ten Hag's response to this:

The European Club Finance and Investment Landscape report says United's players at the end of their 2023 financial year cost 1.42bn euros (£1.21bn) in combined transfer fees. The 2020 Real Madrid squad were previously the most costly at £1.13bn.

United's squad included £82m Antony, £80m Harry Maguire, £73m Jadon Sancho and £70m Casemiro.

The total does not include £72m Rasmus Hojlund, £55m Mason Mount or £47m Andre Onana, all of whom joined in the 2023 summer transfer window.

Although it looks like Chelsea will smash the record.

The reports says three other squads - Emirates Marketing Project, Chelsea and Real - cost more than £1bn in transfer fees.

Chelsea's figures go up to June 2022, meaning the £850m they spent from the summer of that year to August 2023 is not counted.
