Hopefully Eriksen will rediscover himself the way Hazard has this season
I am inclined to disagree. I have been judging him on a match by match basis. I thought he was very good against the Goons last week but very poor yesterday. I distinctly remember him impressing in his first match after signing a new contract but generally he has been poor this season. The fact that I am calling it as I see it after each match does not make him the whipping boy.
And for the record you are right most of the team were poor for large periods yesterday, but the difference is most of those players have a lot more good games than Eriksen
Hopefully Eriksen will rediscover himself the way Hazard has this season
We will have to agree to disagree then, to be honest ( imo) there has only really been the FB and CB's who have been good on a regular basis this season.
Eriksen is my favourite player but he is too inconsistent. Either he finds his form on a consistent basis or maybe we should upgrade on him.
Coming from you Naija, that's harsh. There s no denying he was shocking yesterday
Hazard is miles ahead of Eriksen though. Even the likes of Coutinho are better than Eriksen too. But Eriksen is capable of far more than he is delivering at the moment.
I'm not concerned by his inability at free kicks because even the best free kick takers in the world only score a handful in a season. But his overall play for the most part has been mediocre.
I'd love to see us sign either an up an coming player like Brandt or someone a bit more established like Draxler in January but that's not our MO. I just don't see what Eriksen and Lamela are bringing us this season besides hard work.
Not even Wanyama? Another problem is that a number of our key players have been either been hit by injury and in Dembele's case suspension
Fair criticism of Eriksen on MOTD 2 just now. In essence, not doing enough in the no 10 role.
is it just me or was Kilbane calling him out for hiding?
Yup. He was criticising him for not making enough incisive movement.
The English league is notorious for being physical. If I were playing against Eriksen I'd keep harassing him, knowing that he doesn't retaliate in any way.Poor for Spurs but brilliant for Denmark. Can't understand why.
Make that 38Apparently Eriksen has had 35 shots without a goal. The highest in the PL by some distance.
Make that 38
Shot Attempts (from inside area) / Shots On Target / Goals (pens)
Eriksen: 38 (11) / 27 / 0
Dele Alli: 25 (13) / 14 / 3
Son: 22 (16) / 15 / 4
Jansen: 20 (15) / 11 / 1 (1)
Lamela: 18 (11) / 13 / 1 (1)
Kane: 18 (12) / 11 / 5 (2)
Excluding strikers, only Coutinho has attempted more shots in the EPL this season but at least he has 5 goals to show for his 47 attempts.wow, thats a massive number of shots with no end result. disappointing is and understatement
Very damning, they clearly reflect his awful run of form since he last scored. Would be interesting to contrast with a similar period up to the last time he did manage to find the net.Make that 38
