A totally different thing playing for Brentford vs playing for us, in more ways than one...
You wouldn't be interested in signing any players from Brentford or a similar club then?

Seems stupid buying a #10, when we don't really play a #10. He'll likely just get shoehorned in at RWF (as Kulusevski's cover), and we all saw how well that worked with Lo Celso.
I'm also a bit concerned that he seemed to peak form wise about 4 years ago, and has been on a bit of a decline since then.

That’s quite some decline he’s on when statistically last season he created around twice the chances any of our players did per 90 minutes….Seems stupid buying a #10, when we don't really play a #10. Not my point; i'm saying how is has recovered or otherwise from his near-death experience cannot be totally judged on how he played at Brentford. The physical and mental pressure etc playing for them is totally different playing for a club like us
We have no options which is why this makes senseHe can play deeper if needed
Why are we against having other options as well?

That brought a tear to my eye. DESK at their best.Obligatory youtube vid, I know you can't always trust these things.
The older generation of players now are in better shape than they were when they were youngerThat brought a tear to my eye. DESK at their best.
To all those who say never go back, would you have taken Modric back after a couple of years? How about Bale? Carrick? Berbatov? Each case has to be treated on its merits.
Eriksen is 30 and is by all accounts a model professional -- it's not like he's washed up and heading downhill. I can't find any stats for the distance he's been covering for Brentford, but he was one of the hardest-working players in the league when he was at Spurs.
If Eriksen wants to come back, surely there's room in our squad for him? If Conte sticks to a system with two central midfielders, he should be competing with Bentancur for the creative spot.
If we are signing a younger creative midfielder as well, i'd be ok with this...
I was about to reply with that, but I think he'll need another season before he's ready. Gil could have a breakthrough season though, but I doubt he'll be moving central just yet -- has he been out on the wing in Spain? With a bit of luck Devine and White will step up as well, but it's going to take a few seasons. We have saar.

So we've got PEH and Skipp as defensive CMs and (hopefully) Eriksen and Bentacur as attacking options. I do think we need one more solid option, assuming we do manage to get shot of Winks, Ndombele and Lo Celso. Bissouma or Maddison would be a statement signing but I doubt we'd get either.
