No idea why they don't ref football like rugby. Ref miced up, replays on the screens etc

Wanna stamp out refs getting abused, that would do it in the first game, would also help everyone to understand decision making processes

Is that not what VAR does? Reviews it with replays and technology then just communicates to the ref. I dunno anymore, I've always hated VAR but it does catch some good errors
