Champions League 23/24

The game is well and truly fudged and gone by the absolutely ridiculous rules. Back to the ball, and it's headed down into the arm from 30cm away, and it's given as a penalty.
Absolutely insane and ridiculous! I'm so fuxking fed up by that idiotic interpretation.
It's destroying football!
Maguire headed the ball against his own hand first before it hit the defenders arm.

Yes he did, but that doesn't really matter, as neither is a handball in a world where football rules are how they should be. And Rashford shouldn't have been sent off, nor should Romero. The game is played at high speed, but forensically scrutinised by VAR in slow motion and still pictures that makes a brush against a shin look like a stamp.
It's utterly ridiculous, and it has to end. VAR is here to stay, unfortunately, but they really need to use it in a completly different way!
As it is now, it's killing the game, and leads to more controversy than pre VAR.

In the Sofitel at Heathrow and there were a fair few Manc supporters dotted around the bar lounge, a few giving it large when they scored but then chastened or rather shell-shocked as Copenhagen kept coming back, to eventually win. Wonderful (wonderful) stuff.

I was delighted when I saw that Manure had lost, but looking at the highlights, have to agree that it is absurd that Rashford was sent off and the penalty was ludicrous. We need to go back to the idea that a penalty should be for deliberate handball, otherwise you are back in the area of the crazy pen against us in the CL final.

It's a red mate, he stamped the guys leg, a piece a lot of people missed is his leg came down no where near the ball (yes, I get because he was trying to shield it), intent is not part of the rules, it's a red.

I didn't like the penalty United won, but the ref was consistent, if he had given one and not the other, then it's an issue.

It is a red with the skirt and bluses rules now, but it definitely shouldn't be!
He doesn't stamp him. That would imply intent. He just turns around and the others guy happens to put his leg where Rashford puts down his foot.
It's not nasty (Rashford doesn't even see him), it's not done with much force either.
It looks bad in slowmo, but really isn't anything other than a minor incident.
Often other players reaction is at least an indicator of something, and NONE reacted in any way.
The game is played at high speed, and that was nothing more than an unfortunate accident. They need to move away from reffing the game in slowmo and stills taken out of context.

Mate, as you said, there is a difference between you don't agree with the rule and by the rules it's a red.

To your point, do I agree with it? I honestly had a bigger problem with the second penalty and other brick with VAR
- To me VAR has to have a fudging time limit, if you can't figure it out in 30-45 seconds, stay with on field decisions
- VAR should be invoked, not automatic, i.e. like Cricket or Tennis, so to your point (players know), same rules, correct challenge you keep your total, brick challenge, you lose one.
- Goal line tech should be expanded to ball out, chip in ball, take that brick out of "interpretation" as well
- Offside should be clearly offside (e.g. a gap in the lines, lines touching/overlapping should be on)

So many easy ways to fix.
