I think I'm onto a losing battle but none the less, I would say that your dislike of Liverpool is tainting your opinion of The Beatles. I never try and critique another's opinion of music, it is in the ear of the beholder really, but honestly I'II put the Beatles music up as the bar against which others are compared. I say this as an amateur music lover now and one time pro musician.
Have another listen.
. The only decent Beatles track was The long and Winding road, preferably sung by someone else.
Yeah and Michael Owen has the kind of face you wouldn't get tired of slapping.I loathe Ken Dodd, Jimmy Tarbuck, Cilla Black and Dereck Hatton as well. I have never watched a episode of Bread or The Liverbirds. The only decent Beatles track was The long and Winding road, preferably sung by someone else.
'Twas ever thus. When he played for us he was the same. Might not have had the ball but he was looking for the next opening or position to take and make a pass. On the move constantly throughout the match.
Bigger loss than Bale.
But he don't get stuck in or win any headers like a real midfielder should!!!!!!!
I agree, but you have to give them full respect for the way they deal with City. Definitely something we need to learn there.I doubt Liverpool will get such a lucky run again in next years competition. The first streetwise team they played was in the final and they got comfortably beaten.
They have Emirates Marketing Project's number, I'll give them credit for that.
But they had a group of crap teams to come through -- Spartak Moscow (finished 3rd in Russia), Seville (finished 7th in Spain) and Maribor (who the phuck are they?), Porto in the first knockout stage (how many players can you name from their starting XI?) and Roma in the semis. That's Roma, with phucking Fazio at the back.
IMO, if they drew Juventus, Madrid or Bayern in the quarters (or first knockout round, in the case of Juventus/Madrid), that would have seen them go out at that stage. They had good draws to the final and got beat.

Are they dealing with city or are they just doing what they normally do whilst Pep is too arrogant to counter it?
Obviously it works either way.
And they barely made it out of the group stage with those 2nd rate teams.I doubt Liverpool will get such a lucky run again in next years competition. The first streetwise team they played was in the final and they got comfortably beaten.

A few years? It's almost 25 years ago! That must have been the 94 final, when they beat Barca 4-0, despite Van Basten being out injured. My favourite CL final (though I can't remember most of the others).
AC Milan from a few years back is one, where Desailly was epic in midfield! What year was that?
Yep that must be it. Time flies, eh?A few years? It's almost 25 years ago! That must have been the 94 final, when they beat Barca 4-0, despite Van Basten being out injured.
so, was Bale's goal better than Zidane's ? Both amazing pieces of technique, loved seeing Zizou's reaction to the strike
