Having worked in that industry, have seen a lot worse and nowt's happened and seen far far more innocuous looking crashes where there has been a loss of life. Don't forget too, majority of the photos you'll see are after the fire crews have been at them too - and they do love cutting them up :)

Saw the aftermath of a work colleagues crash in a Mazda 6 vs tree, you can imagine, and amazingly he crawled out the rear window with just cuts n bruises (helped he dozed off at the wheel so he never tensed on impact) - poor fella passed away several years afterwards playing cards in his home :(
 
I'm not sure what they expected from the previous manager.

They're between relegation and mid table in the PL. They're already at peak West Ham.
