It's not a political issue, it's a legal one.

Both clubs tendered bids and Spurs lost because keeping a running track at that site was a requirement. Any attempt to subvert that will result in legal action by Spurs against both the government and West Ham, and we will win.

Win what? the cost of our build? or legal cost? or a token £10m which is peanuts to what the spivs who set it up have made and that will be paid by mugs like you and me.

If you go into politics you have to be a good liar and as you say it will probably happen.
 
Give it 25 years, with the clubs under different ownership. The Olympic stadium needs renovations. What are they going to do?
 
I’d imagine that after several years the argument can be made that business case doesn’t stack up etc...
Or the current company running it goes bust making the contracts null and void etc...

It would be normal in a case like this to sue for any perceived benefit West Ham have received in being able to alter the stadium.

Alternatively we could sue for any extra cost involved in redeveloping our ground Vs the proposal we made for the OS. They would counter that there is added benefit to what we've done so that would be unlikely to succeed.
 
We're in an important stretch of the season as teams look to strengthen to pursuit ambitions or avoid disaster.

Then there's West Ham, gnawing away the floorboards like hungry rats, determined to get into the bottom three. Level now with Watford and Bournemouth on 23 points and set to play at Leicester without Felipe Anderson, out for a month at least with back knack.

After that, they host WBA in the FA Cup, in what is sure to be a robust fixture that just begs for a replay. Next Wed. they burn a home game when Liverpool come in to play the game postponed because of World Club Cup duties. A couple of 3-0 league losses would drop their goal differential to the same levels as their fellow relegation rivals and set the stage for a most entertaining run. Because the schedule becomes a demanding one in the days ahead.

After their loss to Liverpool, they continue a stressful period hosting a vital relegation six-pointer against Brighton then face this seven match stretch into April: @ Emirates Marketing Project, @ Liverpool, Southampton, @ Arsenal, Wolves, @ Spurs, Chelsea.

The final six games are mostly relegation zone battles and, at that point, they are likely to be the ones chasing the pack. Bring 'em home, Moyesy. The Championship is calling.​

It's a great story.
Strong narrative, compelling direction, genuine characters and an outcome we can all believe to be right,

And so it continues according to the script - 4-1 Leicester. Another pounding like that from Liverpool next Wed. and they'll be bottom three on goal differential.
