Canning Town Bingo Club

Rice would be insane to sign anything before his current expires next June. No telling where the Spammers will finish but this hardly looks like a club with a bright future. Just let nature run its course and no one will begrudge him sensibly moving on.

Ive honestly not seen enough of Rice to judge him as a player, I know only that he has a pretty big reputation for what he is.

Unless he is a full on claret cult member (like Noble, for example) I can think of no reason why he would stay there.

He could get a move to a better club agreed in Jan, more wages and higher prospects. Why would any one in that position choose to stay at West Ham?

Stay classy West Ham

Anti-racism charity Kick It Out has asked for an explanation from West Ham after the club reinstated Under-18s coach Mark Phillips, who was suspended after attending a Democratic Football Lads Alliance march. (Telegraph)

Marko Arnautovic puts Man Utd on red alert as West Ham striker hints at transfer
The forward, who has scored five goals in 11 appearances, was linked with a move to Old Trafford in the summer

Marko Arnautovic says he is at "the best age" to leave West Ham in order for him to "compete with the best players"

The Irons forward has shone at the London Stadium since joining from Stoke for £20million in 2017.

He is also the club's top scorer this season with five goals in 11 appearances.

Arnautovic, 29, was linked with a move to Manchester United last summer and the club are favourites his services.

Jose Mourinho worked with the forward at Inter Milan and could be tempted to reunite with Austrian should things not work out with Alexis Sanchez.

"I’m 29, so that’s the best age," Arnautovic confessed to Austrian newspaper Kurier.

"It’s clear that I want to compete with the best players. But in this affair I totally trust my brother."

His brother, Danijel, is his agent and negotiated his move to east London. He says Marko can get even better but only if he's playing for a top team.

"He’s already playing in the Premier League and that’s where the best players are. But for a player like Marko this cannot be the end," said Danijel Arnautovic.

"He’s a big part of West Ham’s team but I think it’s possible to tease out more of him. For that to happen, he has to play for a top team. Marko is ready for the next step. A player like him should not play against relegation. He should play for the international spots.

"Marko is really enjoying playing for West Ham. He loves that club and the fans. But there is still that feeling, that this cannot be the end. And everybody should understand that."

Bookmakers suggest that Manchester United are the favourites to sign him should West Ham let their star talisman go.

Well that didnt take long. And there I was thinking he had found the perfect club.

His knee is absolutely fudged and he pretty much doesn't train for much of the week to be able to play at weekends

My pal is a football coach and lifelong ST holder at WHU and he absolutely raves about him and his talent
I would love it if we nicked him

What is it he raves about exactly? What are Rices attributes to get excited about?

As I said, Ive seen so little of him he is an entirely blank entity in my mind! He is a CB, isnt he? Being played at DM? Which does your mate think he is?

A limited player playing in a very specialised position. One he couldn't get away with at a real football team.

Thats him as a midfielder? When he is supposed to be a CB?

Not sure Id read too much into it, particularly as he is young and developing.

Which, of course, is not to say he will be amazing, or not - just perhaps too soon to judge?

That's where they've played him this season isn't it? I've not seen him play at the back but I don't like him as a midfielder one bit.
