I realised when watching that video that I've been quite harsh on Johnson who has been poor defensively in a lot of key moments. It's Sonny that I really should have the downer on. He didn't even make a single effort on any of those goals that came from Udogie's side. Johnson is not defending aggressively enough. Sonny isn't defending AT ALL.

I like the reel though. It shows that the coaches need to be drilling the 3 main centre halves to get much tighter in these situations. You don't want to get rolled, but standing a yard off and giving the opposition free reign is inexcusable for both coach and player. So much work can be done with the 2 full-backs and their supporting wide players as well.

In some ways we should be optimistic. This stuff is very fixable.

Son I don't think has ever been good at defending. Even under other managers he has let scorers just run off him and he standing in no man's land. Same as Johnson. So either let them off defending and get someone else in or make them get it!

Yeh it is fixable....it would be nice for them to fix it sometime this year

It just takes one player to take charge and the other will follow imo
Be great if it was Johnson or son who are both perceived to be weaker players on that front

And not one player does take charge......

This I agree with. We see odd good performance and people think oh here we go. Reality is , as I’ve said for 12 months we are a mediocre side . Full of average players.

That's an unrealistic stipulation as injuries always occur and to all teams. How you cope and deal with them shows the strength of your squad and ingenuity of the coach.

I think we can but I don’t think we will. We should go all out for the cups. We’re not going to challenge for the title and 4th is unlikely so let’s try and win the LC or the Europa. Levy might not like that but there you go.
